We’re excited to share the success of our week-long trial of JCB’s hydrogen-powered Loadall telehandler on our Sprint - Phase 2 project which is being carried out by the Taylor Woodrow Civils North team! The team are carrying out works on a bus route, which is being built for Transport for West Midlands and the West Midlands Combined Authority, it will be used in part by zero-emission hydrogen-powered buses, that will take passengers from the airport, into the city and beyond. Stuart Townsend, Operations Manager for Taylor Woodrow Civils North shared: “The hydrogen Loadall has been doing everything, from loading our vehicles, taking materials that are required to our sites and unloading deliveries. It’s a huge step forward for us. Our goal is by 2030 for a 40% reduction in carbon emissions and we’re well on the way. We’ve gone from electric cars and now our commercial vehicles are upgrading to electric. We have solar power on the site for our CCTV and our lighting. Zero carbon machinery is 100% the way we need to be.” This innovation is a huge step forward in our commitment to reducing carbon emissions. Together, we’re building a sustainable future! #Sustainability #HydrogenPower #GreenerFuture #NetZero #Innovation

Leyton Tube station is getting a major upgrade ✨🚇 For the first time, the station will have step-free access via two new lifts and an overbridge, supporting the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan's goal of 50% step-free Tube stations. The upgrade, delivered by TWBN (a joint venture between Taylor Woodrow and BAM UK & Ireland), will also include a larger ticket hall with additional gates to ease congestion and accommodate future demand. With thousands of new homes nearby, this jointly funded upgrade will boost capacity, accessibility, and customer experience. The work is planned to start in mid-February and is expected to be completed in spring 2027.

As #NationalApprenticeshipWeek draws to a close, it is time for us to announce our 2025 Apprentice of the Year Award winner!🥁 This year's award goes to Rose Harley! 🎉🏆 Rose is a Level 6 Civil Engineering Degree Apprentice currently working on our Bletchley Train Maintenance Depot project. Rose received lots of praise from leaders across the board, who said: “Rose’s ability to work long site hours ensuring her site responsibilities are complete whilst keeping her University studies up to date is exceptional and demonstrates her dedication not only to the project but also to the wider industry. Since Rose has joined the team she has developed into a more confident person, willing to share her knowledge and experiences. She is a valued member of the team, who actively completes tasks and is unwilling to see jobs go undone. Her work ethic is infectious to all within the team and voluntarily worked longer hours during critical programme tasks to ensure the works were completed to the required standard on time.” A huge well done Rose! 👏 #NAW2025 #CreateYourNextMove #SkillsForLife #Apprentice #Apprenticeships #ApprenticeoftheYear

2 yrs in the making ➡️ time to share what we've just achieved 12 after-school workshops At 1 targeted school With 27 students participating (young people interested in construction &/or at risk of exclusions) We're 10 workshops down & have this week held 4 'pre-contract meetings' as teams pitched their proposals to a select judging panel 😬 The difference from Week 1 to Week 10 was immense 😂 they did themselves & the school proud 💚 Tenders are now under review > before we announce a winning design that we intend to build at the school in partnership with our Supply Chain. Watch this space! 🔙 The Plan & Pitch Project was drafted up in 2023 whilst in my old digs. I hooked Forever Young People in back then as an ideal delivery partner, knowing they had the skillset to help make this a success. There was talk of using the pilot to roll this out across the business in London... then it all went pop! We got there in the end Ashley. Couldn't have done this without you & Gemma 🫡 Returning to Meridian Water was an easy choice. The client prioritises local people being the principle beneficiaries and Simon Milligan gave me full backing to deliver the ambitions we had set out in 2021. This initiative was the icing on the cake! 🧁 Our focus has very much been on supporting local young people - the local needs pointed there & we believed we could make a genuine impact. We've had success recruiting local apprentices from Enfield, so clearly there's talent in the Borough despite what insight may infer... To help us find our school partner, we sought support from he client (shout out Romario Fonseca and Anna at NEXUS). Our school turned out to be Aylward Academy - it's been a whirlwind ever since. Over the course of the 10 sessions we've had ~26 experts involved - which really does showcase this industry & the people within it. They've all made a huge difference to the content and delivery, let alone the young people who have taken part. Thank you all, for you help and enthusiasm 🙏 We now look forward > the school trip > the finale > the build > work experience > future apprenticeships? > future colleagues? The future is bright.
