🤖🇮🇪 Jentic, an Irish startup building the integration layer for AI, has snapped €4 million in pre-seed funding. The funding will be used to expand the team, accelerate product development, and bring an integration layer for AI to market. 📈 The investment was led by Elkstone (which invested in Laka and Numra) with additional participation from Sure Valley Ventures, TechOperators, and Shuttle. ✈️🇩🇪 Air taxi manufacturer Volocopter has filed for insolvency at the Karlsruhe Local Court in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The application was filed on 26 December and will see Anchor Rechtsanwältegesellschaft mbH partner and attorney, Tobias Wahl. 📈 This announcement follows the miraculous recovery of Lilium, yet another German electric air taxi startup. A consortium of European and North American investors is set to acquire the company’s subsidiaries, enabling it to cancel its insolvency plans. 💸🇬🇧 London-based Checkout.com, one of the most valuable fintech companies, has made a pre-tax loss of $6 million in the year ending 2023. 📈 As per the new figures, this is a significant reduction on the $138 million loss the previous year. The figures show that employee numbers at Checkout .com were down from 1,032 in 2022 to 284 in 2023, which is a 72% reduction.
