🔹National Apprenticeship Week 2025🔹 Not every career path is straightforward, and Josh Batey’s journey proves that sometimes, taking a different route leads to the best opportunities. 🎓 He started at college, went to university, but realized an apprenticeship at Tekgem was the perfect fit. Now, as he nears the end of his Level 4 qualification, he’s already working hands-on in the field, securing industrial systems and gaining real-world cybersecurity experience. Josh shares why this path worked for him: 💬 "Getting an apprenticeship with Tekgem has been valuable for me as I prefer to learn with hands-on experience. At Tekgem, I've been able to develop my practical skills while gaining the knowledge to apply these skills from QA. This helps prepare me for my future; at the end of the apprenticeship, I'll have both my qualification and the physical skills to do the job." 💡 Why does this matter? Because apprenticeships aren't just about learning—they’re about doing. Josh isn’t just studying cybersecurity; he’s actively securing critical infrastructure alongside industry professionals. 👏 A huge shoutout to Josh for his hard work and dedication! 🔥 What do you think? Would you choose an apprenticeship over university? Drop your thoughts below! ⬇️ #NAW2025 #Tekgem #Apprenticeships

🔹 National Apprenticeship Week 2025 – Real-World Cybersecurity in Action! 🔹 At Tekgem, we believe apprenticeships should provide more than just theory—they should offer hands-on experience with real industry challenges. Our first-year apprentices, Julia Borelli and Lydia Allen, have been working on an exciting project that does just that! They’ve helped develop a virtual environment for simulating cyberattacks on Operational Technology (OT) systems. Using a travel rack, a server, a switch, a firewall, and FedPlant 3.0 models with PLC controllers, this setup replicates key components of an industrial control system, allowing Tekgem engineers to: ✅ Emulate real-world cyber threats targeting OT infrastructure ✅ Identify vulnerabilities in industrial systems ✅ Evaluate security measures in a controlled environment For Julia and Lydia, this project has been an incredible opportunity to gain practical experience in OT cybersecurity, work with industry-standard technology, and develop skills in threat analysis and incident response. This hands-on learning approach has accelerated their development, preparing them for careers in cybersecurity. And the best part? Their work will be showcased at GISEC 2025 in Dubai, UAE, where Tekgem will demonstrate this model as part of the exhibition! 🌍✨ This project proves that apprenticeships are more than just training—they offer real-world impact and global opportunities. #NAW2025 #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #CyberSecurity #Tekgem #GISEC2025

🔹 National Apprenticeship Week 2025 🔹 Meet Tom Baptist, one of our newest apprentices at Tekgem, currently working on his Level 4: Defender and Responder program with QA. Here's what he had to say about his journey so far: "My apprenticeship at Tekgem offers fantastic growth opportunities – from earning industry certifications, such as ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, to gaining hands-on experience at customer sites. Working alongside experienced professionals has really accelerated my development. For anyone considering an apprenticeship, I highly recommend it – the combination of on-site work and professional qualifications is invaluable for career growth." At Tekgem, we’re proud to invest in the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, giving them the skills and experience they need to succeed, this includes funding external certifications, which are recognised across the industry. #NAW2025 #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #CyberSecurityCareers #Tekgem

🚀 National Apprenticeship Week 2025! 🚀 At Tekgem, we’re proud to support apprentices as they build their careers through hands-on experience and real-world learning. Bethany Delaney, our second-year apprentice, is close to completing her Level 4 apprenticeship, and she’s shared her thoughts on the journey so far: "The best part of my apprenticeship so far is the hands-on experience. This has allowed me to learn so much more as I can use the theory that I learn in an actual situation. For anyone considering an apprenticeship, I say just do it. You learn whilst you work, get experience alongside all the knowledge you're taught. I chose an apprenticeship as I don’t learn very quickly when only carrying out theory work. However, because I can apply my practical skills alongside, I can learn a lot quicker." Bethany’s story highlights the real benefits of apprenticeships—learning on the job, gaining industry experience, and developing skills in a way that suits different learning styles. If you’re thinking about starting an apprenticeship, take Bethany’s advice—just go for it! ✅ #NationalApprenticeshipWeek #NAW2025 #Apprenticeships #Tekgem
