A multi-award-winning law firm specialising in fraud and financial crime

About us

Tenet is a niche law firm which provides advice on financial crime compliance, fraud investigations and recovery of losses due to fraud. We believe education is pivotal in the fight against fraud. It is important for us as a firm to offer knowledge, best practice and information to help reduce the risk of fraud , not just for our clients but for everyone. Following our page will give you a greater understanding of the various types of fraud and how to identify and minimise the risks. We will share our knowledge to help protect against possible threats and provide advice on investigating and responding to fraud. Fraud is wrong and the impact goes well beyond financial losses. We know fraud is personal. It can be dishonesty of a colleague, a business partner, a trusted adviser or it is simply how it impacts upon you where you feel like you can be to blame if tricked into losing your personal money by fraudsters. We post about who we are, the work we do and more importantly why we do it. We promise not to use technical jargon or over complicate things …we keep it simple. If we had an impossible ambition, it would be to stop fraud. Its impact is wide ranging and that is why we focus solely on this area of law. Our strengths lie in the way we operate, with no financial, chargeable hours or cash collection targets for our lawyers. Our team have all had at least four years of experience in a national or international law firm. They are encouraged to focus on the client, delivering high-quality services, from the locations, and within the hours, that suit them. Our unique approach has been recognised in short listings for multiple national awards for innovation (Legal Week, Lexus Nexis & the Law Society) and most recently winning Best Financial Crime & Compliance Law Firm 2021 in the SME News Legal Awards. If you have a question on fraud, need to consider risks, revise policies, undertake internal training or create bespoke solutions please get in touch.

The advice stressed the importance of thoroughly checking details and taking personal responsibility for protecting ourselves especially over the busy festive period. At Tenet, we specialise in complex fraud investigations, disputes, and financial crime compliance. Whether you need expert support to manage fraud risks within your organisation or assistance with a complex fraud-related dispute, reach out to our team to learn how we can help. I paid scammers thousands thinking they were my farm suppliers! Arun joined BBC One Countryfile looking at how mandate fraud (invoice account detail changes by fraudsters) and fake large machinery is causing problems for the farming sector. Farmer Alan Steven had no reason to doubt that the invoices he received from his suppliers were genuine. They looked the same as his usual emailed invoices with just one difference - the bank details at the end were different. Alan, who runs a farm near St Andrews in Fife, went on to pay a building contractor £12,000 and a grain merchant £16,000. But it wasn't until one of his genuine suppliers started chasing him for payment that he realised he had been the victim of a sophisticated fraud. Arun Chauhan specialist fraud lawyer at Tenet shared his experience with organised crime gangs running this type of fraud. He said: “If you think about it, this is a business profession. You have organised crime gangs. "You have people who just spend their entire day honing their skills on how to dupe people. "And when they know that a method is working, they're just going to keep perpetrating it, and others will jump on that bandwagon as well.”   Read the full article on the BBC News Website: https://lnkd.in/e--ajp5d Watch the full episode on the BBC iPlayer: Countryfile -https://lnkd.in/e4ZWfbex To learn more about Tenet’s expertise in Procurement & Supply Chain Fraud visit our website: https://lnkd.in/eqRk_EcQ

BBC Scams Week: Fraud Advisory Panel Takes Part in Raising Fraud Awareness Scam Safe week will feature content from across the BBC dedicated to fraud and scams focussing on what viewers can do to protect themselves and raising awareness of the growing risks of fraud and cybercrime. Tenet is proud to contribute to this campaign as members of the Fraud Advisory Panel, a leading organisation dedicated to preventing, detecting, and deterring fraud. Our founder, Arun Chauhan, who is a Trustee for the Fraud Advisory Panel, joined the BBC Talking Business programme to discuss: How big of an issue is fraud for small businesses right now? In his discussion, Arun highlights the immense challenges small businesses face: 👉 Limited Policing Resources: Just 1% of policing resources are allocated to fraud, leaving small businesses with the increased responsibility of protecting themselves. 👉 Critical Impact: Fraud can lead to devastating outcomes, including significant redundancies, loss of confidence, and even closure. 👉 Evolving Threats: Impersonation scams, cybercrime, and even AI-driven fraud are increasingly being used to deceive businesses. 👉 Insider Fraud: A persistent risk for organisations of all sizes. Arun stressed the importance of verification: ✅ Verify financial records and ensure you're dealing with genuine people. ✅ Meet face-to-face or conduct thorough checks, especially during the early stages of a business relationship. ✅ Be cautious with deals that seem “too good to be true” or fall outside your usual scope of work. With fraud becoming a growing threat in today’s digital economy, Scams Week is a powerful platform to drive awareness and action. We’re honoured to collaborate on this mission and help businesses better protect themselves against fraud and financial crime. 💡 Watch now on the BBC iPlayer: https://lnkd.in/ebi8Xtsb 💡 Learn more about BBC Scams week here: https://lnkd.in/eUrcvAwj 💡 Join the Fraud Advisory Panel community—open to anyone with a professional interest in combating fraud and financial crime. Specialist fraud disputes & financial crime compliance lawyer | Conference speaker on all things fraud | Founder of award winning law firm Tenet | Trustee Director Fraud Advisory Panel

Last week was a little bit mad (and exhausting to be fair). I find my role morphing a bit - still managing some of our disputes work but increasingly trying to let folks know our firm Tenet exists and letting folks know of the depth of litigation work we do (amongst the front end compliance / training / policy strategy work I seem to be doing more of). Thanks to both the LONDON FRAUD FORUM and Tackling Economic Crime Awards (TECAs) for asking me to speak at their conferences. Great to be on the BBC News website discussing issues impacting SMEs in relation to commercial phone contracts and lease finance agreements. Not winners, but proud our firm was shortlisted at the TECA awards as was our Liane Atcheson for an individual award. We might not have won but to be noticed means a lot to us. Great to share a table at the awards dinner with Dr Elisabeth Carter Dr Tim Day and Claire Maillet (and well done Lis for your award!). Great to have also to have seen the former England Manager Roy Hodgson at Euston station on the Tuesday 🙂
