We work with students who need our help the most 💚 We're committed to helping young people from under-resourced backgrounds raise their aspirations, place at university, and achieve social mobility. By delivering our programme to some of society's most vulnerable young people, we're helping create a fairer future for everyone. Rising costs are deterring young people from applying to university, and the struggle of balancing part-time work with academic demands is contributing to increased drop-out rates. 🤔 So, what's the solution? Students need strong financial education, so they can make confident, informed decisions about their future. In our latest blog post, Policy and Research Manager Chloe Manuel illustrates the need for stronger financial education in the national curriculum, increased funding for financial literacy training programmes, and targeted outreach by sector specialists to give all young people the opportunity to succeed. On the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we're shouting out the inspiring young women and girls on our #WideningParticipation programme who are breaking barriers and pursuing careers in STEM fields. 💪 "I started out with a U in further maths at the beginning, and by the end I achieved a 9 at GCSE in Year 10. Ali studied with The Access Project from 2021 - 2023, achieving top grades in A level Politics, Sociology, History, and Turkish. Now, he's studying Human, Social and Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge. He attended a week-long summer school at Pembroke College, Cambridge, which he said gave him the confidence to apply to the prestigious university. Taking pride in his Kurdish heritage, Ali is now working on research exploring Kurdish communities in Turkey, and he has plans to pursue a career in sociology of marginality and exclusion.
