About us

Average Adjusters play a unique and highly skilled role in the international marine and insurance industries. The Association exists, first and foremost, to promote and uphold professional standards so that those who use the services of an average adjuster consistently receive exceptional levels of expertise and integrity. Our written and practical examinations are known for their rigour, leading up to Fellowship of the Association of Average Adjusters – a title recognised internationally as a gold standard of excellence. In addition, a growing number of professionals take the Associate exam – a stepping stone to becoming a Fellow, but also valuable in its own right as demonstrating an enhanced knowledge of maritime and insurance practice. By virtue of its role, the Association of Average Adjusters is able to provide a distinctive insight and perspective on the markets it serves, and acts as an international hub for practitioners outside the ranks of its members. Our meetings are invariably well attended, and our annual dinner in London is one of the big events in the marine and insurance calendar.
