Well, what a year 2024 has been! I set myself personal and professional goals - some I achieved, and some remain work in progress. Looking back, it’s been quite a journey, and I’m immensely grateful to the people, organisations, and networks that supported me along the way. ⭐ One of my key professional objectives was to join the board of an operating company with a strong purpose, to complement my existing investment trust and charity board roles. In April, I became a Non-Executive Director at Scottish Friendly, a financial mutual dedicated to helping families with their savings. It’s been a privilege to contribute to such a people- and member-centric organisation with bold ambitions. ⭐ Another professional goal was to take on a senior executive role at a purpose-driven company. Last month, I became CMO of LiveMore Mortgages, a later-life lending tech scaleup challenging the status quo to deliver better outcomes for the underserved segment of borrowers aged 50–90+. A heartfelt thank you to Leon Diamond for welcoming me into the team while supporting my continued commitment to the Boards I serve. Your trust means so much. I owe a lot to the organisations and communities that have helped me grow as both a #NonExecutiveDirector and a #CMO: The Women on Boards UK Directors’ Circle The Nurole+ Board Community The BDO Financial Services NED Community The Association of Investment Companies (AIC) The Association of Financial Mutuals The CMO Circle The CMO Alliance The Fintech Marketing Hub CIC I didn’t quite achieve many of my personal goals around family and health, so this will be my focus going forward! To everyone who’s been part of my 2024 - thank you. 🙏 And here’s to another year of personal and professional growth in 2025! 💫✨ #ThankYou #NewYearGoals

I had the chance to gain some valuable insights at last week's The Fintech Marketing Hub CIC Winter Meetup in Shoreditch. It was great to hear Natalie Williams, Max Rothery and Alessandro Onano's opinions and thoughts on fintech marketing and where we're headed next. Being able to exchange ideas with people such as Will Bradley, Jack Whitehead 🎬, Sumeet Vermani, Tom Rudnai, Alexander Ford, and Tricia Rogers (and many more!) was absolutely brilliant. Thanks to Araminta Robertson for organising and Shameer Sachdev for sponsoring the event. With all the talk in the world at the moment regarding AI, meeting highly talented professionals at the event only reiterated the importance of human skill and creativity - there is no substitute for that!

I had a great time attending my first The Fintech Marketing Hub CIC's Winter Meetup at Rise, created by Barclays earlier this week. What a fantastic community! Huge thanks to Helen Owen for the invitation and to Araminta Robertson for making me feel so welcome. The panel discussion was packed with useful insights, and I really enjoyed the roundtable conversation where we discussed: 🔄 Integrated approach for best results – tie brand efforts through to bottom-of-the-funnel activities. Brand shouldn't work in isolation, even if its sits in a separate team. 🚫 Brand is lower priority? – turn off your brand activities and see how quickly it impacts your results! 🎯 Alignment between brand and good products is key - poor products or a lack of readiness can be a dealbreaker, regardless of how strong the brand is! 📊 Brand measurement – mix quantitative and qualitative, but lean more on the quant. Think brand surveys, share of voice trackers, employee metrics, product/partner launches, and QBR feedback. 👥 Beyond customers – strong brands don’t just help retain customers; they also attract and retain employees, turning them into advocates. I'm looking forward to attending more of these discussions in 2025! ID: two photos from the event. The top one shows the four panellists sat on the stage. The second photo shows the roundtable discussions taking place.

Had a great time at The Fintech Marketing Hub CIC's Winter Meetup earlier this week - always great to see new and familiar faces to share ideas and challenges. A huge thank you to Araminta Robertson and the team for organising a fab panel - as an F1 fan, I can appreciate Natalie Williams really milking the Airwallex McLaren partnership on the back of their recent championship win! And I especially enjoyed the breakout format that followed. As I've mentioned on here before, I'm not particularly fond of networking, but having these smaller groups - ours expertly led by Mariette Ferreira - meant we had a really good discussion, which also made for a good natural segue into wider networking. Ryan Reynolds and payments... how can that collab impact marketing? Our co-founder Araminta Robertson and MD at Mint Studios interviewed Nuvei's Global Head of Content Marketing Alex Bucur, to learn more about how the company approaches content and how they repurpose celebrity campaigns. Check out our recent content case study to read about: → How did the campaign with Ryan Reynolds and F1 work out? → The role of content at Nuvei and how they create their content strategy → Why (and how) they track everything for content attribution If you're in payments, this one is a must read! Fantastic evening last night sharing the stage at The Fintech Marketing Hub CIC Winter Meetup on behalf of Airwallex on "Crafting Connection: Creative Strategies for Building and Measuring Brand Impact in Fintech". Had a great time exchanging insights with Alessandro Onano (Moneyfarm) and Max Rothery (Finimize), moderated by Shameer Sachdev (Growth Gorilla). Some key takeaways… 🤝 Brand and performance marketing work best as collaborative forces, not competitors 📈Data matters - but focus on metrics that truly demonstrate brand impact 🧡A strong brand doesn’t just attract customers—it attracts talent and partners, too. People want to work with companies they resonate with. 🧑🧑🧒🧒 Community is key! Great marketing is about fostering real connections, not just driving metrics. 🌍 Balancing a centralised strategy with localised flavours is crucial to being successful in local markets Great to meet so many other fintech marketers at the last Fintech Marketing Hub event of 2024. Looking forward to the next! Thanks Ani Petrova Araminta Robertson #FintechMarketing #BrandStrategy #Marketing #FinTech

Thank you The Fintech Marketing Hub CIC for hosting your Winter Meetup "Crafting Connection: Creative Strategies for Building and Measuring Brand Impact in Fintech" at Rise, created by Barclays. A lively panel discussion with Natalie Williams, Airwallex, Alessandro Onano, Moneyfarm, Max Rothery, Finimize and expertly hosted by Shameer Sachdev, Growth Gorilla that explored the enduring dilemma of balancing brand and performance. And the challenge of convincing boards to invest in brand when they are often laser-focused on immediate, measurable ROI. Takeaways: ✨ It's not sacrificing one for the other, it's both working together and in service of each other. ✨ Boards need data, but make sure you're measuring the right things. ✨ A strong brand attracts more than customers, it's a magnet for top talent and strategic partners. A lovely evening of shared perspectives and new connections. #FinTech #Marketing #brandstrategy

Yesterday marked the final event of the year for the community, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how it went! 🎉 A massive thank you to our co-founder Araminta Robertson and long-standing supporter Shameer Sachdev for making this event possible! We’re also incredibly grateful to our amazing speakers, facilitators, and the engaged members who attended – your contributions are what make this community so special. Special thanks to Alessandro Onano, Max Rothery, Ilias Tsatalmpasidis MBA MCIM, Sumeet Vermani, Mariette Ferreira, Roberto Napolitano, MBA, and a huge kudos to Natalie Williams for stepping in last minute and saving the panel! 🤩 Last night, we also tested a new roundtable format, which sparked some fantastic conversations and fresh ideas. From the feedback so far, it’s clear this experiment was a success – and we’re excited to do more of this in 2025! Here are a few key takeaways from the evening: → There shouldn’t be a "brand budget"; it should simply be part of your overall marketing budget. → Look beyond the usual fintech sponsorships – history podcasts or women’s hockey teams could help you reach your audience in fresh ways. → Track brand awareness with unconventional metrics like the "T-shirt test" (does your merch resonate?) or noticing branding phrases in sales conversations. Finally, we extend our gratitude to Growth Gorilla for sponsoring and Rise, created by Barclays, for hosting – a fantastic way to close out 2024! It’s inspiring to see how this community continues to innovate and connect. Here’s to an even bigger and more connected 2025. Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season and a fresh start to the new year! 🎉 #FintechMarketing
