In case you missed it, we’ve deployed a portable 5G private network in partnership with The National Robotarium. It’s being used to test robots with the aim of building the innovation centre’s digital capabilities for undertaking commercial projects 🤖🌾. Portable 5G private networks are unlocking exciting benefits in the agritech sector. They provide high-speed, reliable internet access in remote or rural areas where traditional broadband is often limited, enabling better connectivity for devices and systems on the farm. The low latency offered by 5G allows real-time data collection and analysis, supporting immediate decision-making for precision agricultural tasks, such as crop monitoring and equipment adjustments. And they can be easily deployed and moved as needed, making them ideal for seasonal or shifting agricultural operations where fixed infrastructure is impractical. The UK agritech industry is predicted to hit £15.6 billion by 2026. Another day, another retrospect. Last week we hosted our 5th anniversary celebration and first whole team quarterly check in of 2025. Guest speaker Marina Koytcheva first helped us look back – because she helped us host our launch event in 2020. And then her boss Chris Barraclough refocused us forward as he guided us through the roots and key findings of our first Mobile Connectivity ROI report. As ever it was a lot of fun to be together and kick off the year with gusto: we reminisced with Brendan Hourihane and Rachel Phillips, dived deep into our go to market plans with Sharon Olive and her sales team leads and, as always, celebrated the whole team with our employee recognition awards hosted by Millie Hicks and Peter Gilson. This included a special Chairman’s award presented by Graham Payne. It's been our privilege to work with Virgin Media O2 and England Rugby at this iconic venue for almost 15 years. As our CEO Simon Frumkin said, “We’ve worked with Virgin Media O2 in the Allianz Stadium since before the 2012 Olympics. It has a unique mobile connectivity system, the first of its kind from a technical perspective.
