Our latest report, capturing the discussions and recommendations from our roundtable in December 2024, shows how to align policies, partnerships, and funding to close persistent health gaps. The roundtable followed the publication of the Innovation for Health Inequalities Programme impact and learning report, a programme established by NHS England in 2022 in collaboration with the Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC), NHS England’s National Healthcare Inequalities Improvement Programme, and the Health Innovation Network, and delivered in partnership with integrated care systems (ICSs). Discover how an equitable approach can relieve NHS pressures, boost local economies, and empower communities. The six recommendations the report identifies as potential pathways for progress are: - Ensure sustainable, multi-year funding - Enable data interoperability and shared evaluation - Encourage cross-sector accountability and partnerships - Empower place-based innovation - Strengthen workforce competencies in health inequalities - Demonstrate impact and value Thank you to everyone who informed this report through their expertise, and a special thank you to Richard Stubbs, and Prof. Bola Owolabi, MRCGP MFPH(Hon), FRSPH for hosting this roundtable. We're blown away by the support for our first event for Women in HealthTech, which we held last night with Answer Digital. It was our pleasure to host so many people passionate about making change to the funding disparities faced by women in this space. 📢 Kathy Scott opened us up with some stark stats, including the fact that female-founded start-ups only received 1.8% of venture capital funding in 2023 - even less for HealthTech! Our expert panel, Hana Hussain Katie Parlett MBE Helen Oldham Jane Meaney Fatima Khan-Shah joined us to share their stories and inspired us all to keep going, no matter the path. Thank you all. The group discussions were so insightful, we have a lot to take away to move forward with this agenda and we hope you will be part of it with us. 🙌 Were you there last night? A new study published last week by the General Medical Council found doctors who use artificial intelligence see benefits for their own efficiency and for patient care in a resource-stretched NHS and, although they recognise there are risks, they feel confident in managing them. There is no doubt that the adoption of AI in healthcare holds huge potential to transform and improve patient outcomes, and it is critical that innovation is deployed responsibly, ethically and with human-centric design at the core. Hatim Abdulhussein, GP and Chief Executive of Health Innovation Kent Surrey Sussex, shared more about how we're ensuring AI assurance in healthcare in this recent blog: https://lnkd.in/efVwyJFW Link to the research: https://lnkd.in/ey8vx9GD. #HealthInnovation #AI #NHS
