Updates

  • The Bristol Hi-Fi Show wasn't quite as busy as last year, but still seemingly well attended. The Amphion / Hegel rooms were sounding great, particularly the new H190v integrated amplifier with integral MM phono stage (based on the stand alone V10) which was used with Amphion Argon 3S loudspeakers. I didn't get to look around much of the show myself, but a few conversations led to the future addition of a few interesting brands which will appear over the course of this year once we're fully settled into the new premises in Balsall Common. Some will get a big announcement, some will be a soft introduction, so keep an eye on the website for these on the "what's new" page. These will include four turntable manufacturers to accompany AVID and New Horizon... Along with our existing brands, the additions will give us an extremely strong product line up moving into 2025 - by then, the events we will be hosting will have become a regular occurrence.

Today is the second annual birthday for the little audio company - our first was back in November which was our inception date, and today (4th January) is our official opening date. As we enter our 8th year, we can announce that the little audio company is moving! The Jewellery Quarter is a lovely place, but the events of the past years have rendered it no longer viable. Therefore, we are moving out of Birmingham city centre to the Coventry/Warwickshire border, to the village of Balsall Common (CV7), a few miles from Meriden, the very centre of England. Free on site parking, no more Low Emissions Zone to contend with, surrounded by motorways for easy access, and less than a 10 minute walk from Berkswell station on the main London to Edinburgh train line - two stops away from Birmingham International and the N.E.C., a future stop for HS2. Access couldn't be simpler. The detached building will not only allow the little audio company to cover all aspects of hi-fi (including our growing vinyl coverage), but also become a must-visit for movie fans, as we will be offering full, high-end home theatre installations. Brands will continue as is, and there will be room for a few more which will be added during the course of the year. Once settled, we'll be holding regular events for our core brands, which will be announced on social media. Thanks again to those of you who have supported me this far, you've all been stellar, and I hope you'll stick with me for the next part of the journey...
