What a great post Otis!!! Really glad you enjoyed this first event. Looks like we may be going again next year!!!!!
On Saturday, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the very first #footballagainstMND gala dinner at Old Trafford. The event supported the amazing work of the The Mel Evans MBE Foundation and the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, bringing together so many people to raise funds and awareness in the fight against motor neurone disease. I was honoured to volunteer at the event, assisting with “Spot the Ball” and organising the raffle tickets, which were key parts of the evening’s fundraising efforts. The event wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of Louise Stewart, who’s hard work and passion ensured the success of such a special night. For me personally, it was important to contribute and help raise as much money as possible for my good friend Marcus Stewart, who continues to show his incredible strength fighting MND. This isn’t the first time I’ve been involved in raising awareness for MND. During college, I created a documentary exploring the connection between sport and MND, where I had the privilege of interviewing both Marcus Stewart and Kevin Sinfield where they shared their stories and inspired action. The evening was made even more special by meeting some of my sporting idols and media professionals like Paul Scholes, Sir Alex Ferguson, Nicky Butt, Jill Scott and Gary Newbon. This experience also gave me a valuable insight into how large-scale events are conducted, providing a fantastic opportunity to network with companies like OmniSports Ltd and connect with individuals who share a common goal. A big thank you to ConciergeUK and Wayne Hadley for helping set up such an incredible event. It was an unforgettable evening and I’m proud to have played a part in supporting the fight against MND. #MND #darbyrimmer #footballagainstmnd #bangthedrum
