Bringing Joy to Seafarers Earlier this year, Aderco approached us with a heartfelt idea: to surprise seafarers with a gift that could bring them a sense of comfort and joy while at sea. We were delighted to collaborate on this initiative, and as a result, the Mission to Seafarers Singapore team facilitated the distribution of table tennis sets, proudly featuring the logos of both the Mission and Aderco. Idris Talib, Technical Manager, joined the team for a ship visit and played a role in hand out the sets to crew members, who were thrilled with the unexpected gifts. A huge thank you to Aderco for partnering with us on this wonderful project to brighten the lives of seafarers this season. Your generosity is truly appreciated! If you would like to partner with The Mission to Seafarers, please contact: ed.pearce@missiontoseafarers.org. Thank you. Toh Soon Kok

This time last week, we hosted our annual Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at the historic All Hallows by the Tower Church in London, followed by a warm and welcoming reception at Trinity House. This cherished event brought together supporters, volunteers, and friends from the global shipping community to honor the dedication of seafarers and their families, particularly during the festive season. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors—Shell, Ardmore Shipping Corporation, and RightShip—for their generous support. A special thank you to our readers, who graciously gave their time to present the nine lessons: Paul Dean, Louise Sara MNM, Christian Bale, David Barrow, Deborah Layde, Thomas Preben Hansen, David H. Pellatt, Tomi Toluhi and The Ven. Mike Power. Additional thanks to the Breakbulk Events & Media volunteers, whose efforts ensured the event ran seamlessly. We are also deeply grateful to Lloyd's Choir for once again leading the congregation in a beautiful selection of Christmas carols. Lastly, thank you to everyone who attended and joined us in celebrating the invaluable contributions of seafarers. Your presence made the evening truly special. Climate change is dramatically transforming maritime conditions, presenting seafarers with unprecedented challenges. The Mission to Seafarers has embarked on a transformative journey through the launch of its inaugural Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report that not only upholds the organisation’s longstanding commitment to seafarers’ welfare but also recognises the long-term challenges facing our planet and our part in addressing them. As we commence this journey, we aim to learn, evolve, and continue to support #seafarers and the industry on the frontlines of climate change while contributing to a more resilient, equitable, and environmentally responsible maritime sector.
