The National Fruit Show - celebrating the brilliance of British fruit for over 90 years.

About us

Dedicated to showcasing the best of British fruit for over 90 years, The National Fruit Show is going from strength to strength. Last year’s event was a huge success with the industry concentrating on innovation and technology within the sector. For 2024 the show will be the place to be to find the latest and most useful tools for your business in the years ahead. Boasting the best of British produce and technology, The National Fruit Show is without doubt a key event for the industry and the ideal place to meet new and existing clients. It is the only show ‘by growers, for growers.’ While fruit growing has changed immeasurably over the last nine decades, one thing remains constant. At the heart of the National Fruit Show is the stunning display of competition entries – around 60 metres of the best of British fruit. Dates for 2024: Wednesday 17th April 2024 Joint AGM with British Apples & Pears at NIAB, East Malling, Kent. The new format National Fruit Show is on Wednesday 6th November 2024. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone again.

Updates

  • We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the 91st National Fruit Show such a success. From the talented growers who entered the competitions, to the exhibitors and of course to our enthusiastic attendees - your support truly showcased the strength and pride of the British fruit industry. A special thank you to our valued sponsors Hutchinsons, NP Seymour, and OnePay for their dedication and contributions, helping us make this event possible. Catherine Paice, president of the National Fruit Show and the Marden Fruit Show Society, captured the spirit of the day perfectly and said: “It was a terrific day that would make anyone proud of the industry’s achievements. Congratulations to all those who contributed to a spectacular display of fruit, a real showcase for British growers, and to organisers, sponsors, and supporters for all their hard work and considerable input. We can look forward to next year with great positivity.” We’re already looking forward to another amazing show next year. In the meantime, here are just a few of the wonderful photographs captured by show photographer Martin Apps. #NationalFruitShow #ThankYou #BritishFruitIndustry #ShowcaseOfBritishFruit #SupportBritishGrowers #SeeYouNextYear #UKFruitIndustry

  • 🍎 The National Fruit Show 2024 is officially open! 🍎 We’re thrilled to welcome guests to a bustling event here at the Kent County Showground. The show opened this morning with remarks from Nigel Bardsley, chairman of the National Fruit Show, Catherine Paice, president of the National Fruit Show and Marden Fruit Show Society, and NFU president Tom Bradshaw, with a blessing from Reverend Nicky Harvey of St Michael & All Angels in Marden. Nigel Bardsley shared his excitement about this year’s fruit, saying, “Despite the challenges of the British weather, there is a good crop of fruit, which is tasting and looking good and coloured." NFU President Tom Bradshaw spoke about the critical role of British horticulture in food security and health, stating, “With the new government recognising that food security is a key part of our national security and also talking about the role food plays in health there has never been a better time to unlock the opportunity to unleash the power of the horticultural sector.” Ali Capper, executive chair of British Apples & Pears Limited (BAPL), also addressed attendees at the President’s breakfast, highlighting the need for long-term stability for British growers: “The National Fruit Show is a great opportunity to showcase the very best of British fruit. After several years of extreme inflationary pressures, things are definitely starting to look up. Longer-term contracts with retailers are being discussed and agreed, and this provides growers with much-needed certainty to invest in the future.” The show will be open until 6:00 PM, so come by to celebrate the best of British apples, pears, and innovations in the fruit industry. We look forward to seeing you!
