About us

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church and an international charitable organisation that operates in 128 countries. Its aim is to save souls, to grow saints and to serve suffering humanity. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. The Salvation Army in Ireland has existed for over 130 years and today is at the heart of the Capital’s homeless services. We provide emergency, short term and long term accommodation for men and women who are homeless. We also provide emergency accommodation for children who are homeless. But The Salvation Army is about more than just putting a roof over someone’s head. We strive to help people overcome problems such as debt, addiction and unemployment that have made them homeless in the first place. In doing so, we help them gain the confidence and skills they need to rebuild their lives so that they might never become homeless again. The Salvation Army in Ireland operates 6 Life houses:
