About us
With a legacy stretching back over 100 years, The Sloane Club has always represented a place of sanctuary; a place to gather, socialise and share ideas. It’s also been a home-from-home: full of joy, laughter, and occasion. Reborn in 2025 and open once again following a full renovation and reset, we’re excited to now share our ambition for the future. A vision that is proudly underpinned by The Club’s pioneering spirit and characters, but fully reimagined and renovated, from our spaces and offerings to our energy and approach. Now is a time to look forward, and welcome in a new era for this much-loved institution.

Founded in 1922. Reborn in 2025. We are delighted to announce that the newly reimagined and renovated ground floor of The Club will reopen this Friday 7th March. For our Members, it will be The Sloane Club as never seen before. Years in the works, from our acquisition by Queensway and Clearbell Capital LLP back in 2017; we have approached this complete renovation and reset with the utmost respect and care. Now, after nearly 18 months of developing this historic building, we embrace part one of what promises to be a momentous year. Starting with our new all-day restaurant Helena’s (named after our founder), The Library, Demob Bar and Reception on the ground floor, we will also have refurbished all 66 Club bedrooms by the end of the month. To follow we have our new state of the art gym and Wellness space later this Spring, and then our fine-dining restaurant, outdoor terrace, workspace and event rooms all arriving in Summer. A new chapter begins. This Friday. #TheSloaneClub

Our Managing Director, Neena Jivraj Stevenson, and General Manager, Anna Jackson, participated in a HOSPA panel, sharing their insights on fostering a genuine commitment to a culture of cooperation, longevity and authenticity.
The sessions conclude with a Leaders’ Panel that delivered inspiring and wide-ranging insights from hospitality heavyweights Simon Casson (Corinthia), Chris Wayne-Wills (Crerar Hotels), Anna Jackson (The Sloane Club) and Neena Jivraj Stevenson (The Sloane Club/Queensway), moderated by Liz Hartstone. Each leader shared their unique perspectives on leadership, culture, mentorship and the essence of what it takes to thrive in hospitality. Chris emphasised that it’s not just the career doors we walk through that matter but those we choose not to, shaping our journey and helping us reach further than we thought possible. He championed a holistic approach to benefits, recognising that lived experience brings powerful leadership insights. Neena shared an observation from her time at Harvard Business School of “culture eats strategy for breakfast.” The people we bring into our business shape its culture, and true alignment only happens when shared values underpin partnerships and decisions. Leaders should ask themselves how they would describe their business as a person – something that offers a powerful lens on company culture. Anna inspired us to seize opportunities and make our industry accessible, where hard work can open any door. “Present yourself as the person you want to be,” she said, before underlining the importance of always leaving the door open for your team to reach out. And Simon encouraged us to view hospitality as a journey of self-discovery, where you find out your strengths and the things you're great at to become your authentic self. Leaders hold the power to inspire confidence in others, guiding them to take on challenges and grow through diverse experiences. Each panellist's message was a reminder that, at its core, hospitality is about creating opportunities for growth, for ourselves and for those we lead. A huge thank you to our panellists for such a meaningful conclusion to our HOSPACE talks! #HOSPACE24 #Hospitality #Leadership #Culture #Mentorship #Inspiration

A momentous year. At the start of 2024, we embarked on a total redevelopment that is set to transform The Sloane Club, propelling us into the future with new spaces inspired by our rich legacy. The initial phase of freshly renovated restaurant and bar areas – alongside our new library and wellness space – is scheduled to be unveiled in Winter 2024, with the final phase set for completion in Spring 2025. With a history stretching back over 100 years, we continue to evolve and change with the world around us: our mission to bring people together unchanged. Please watch this space for further updates, from site developments, new offerings, our wider vision, and new job opportunities – as we’ll soon be starting the recruitment of new talent to help bring The Sloane Club 2.0 to life. #TheSloaneClub #NewBeginnings #Hospitality #MembersClub #redevelopment #recruitment

Wow - what a week we’ve had! In celebration of #internationalwomensday the Debate Mate team has been thrilled to host a total of 4 events, in partnership with some fantastic organisations, tackling important questions surrounding gender equality. Here’s a rundown… 1️⃣ On Tuesday, we hosted a breakfast in partnership with global members club Adoreum Partners, sponsored by The Sloane Club. We ran a thought-provoking debate on whether AI, often hailed for innovation, perpetuates or challenges biases against women. Two of our older students, Wren & Olivia, along with Debate Mate’s Esther Mark and Elissa Abbara did a fantastic job winning over the room. Thank you to Marcus Watson, Rosalie Deighton, Courteney Levy-Collins and Daisy Hill for organising such a wonderful event and to Hamish Gordon Lennox and Amelia Mist for a great collaboration. 2️⃣ On Wednesday, we ran a show debate with Aquis Stock Exchange , tackling the topic of gender quotas and their impact on diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Included on the panel was Aquis CEO Alastair and board member Ruth as well as 2 students from The Sydney Russell School, one of the schools on our core programme. 3️⃣ On Thursday, we ran a special International Women’s Day edition of our monthly Debate Mate Breakfast, hosted at the The Ivy Soho Brasserie. Students from Elmhurst Primary School, alongside Esther and Elissa again, debated the motion: “International Women's Day does more harm than good”. Guests were from a fantastic cross-section of industries, including Sony Music Entertainment, PIMCO, Bank of America, Virgin Money, Deloitte, Virgin Unite, Janus Henderson Investors Informa, BDO and TED Conferences. 4️⃣ We were also thrilled to run an event in collaboration with Bloom Network, a professional network for women in communications, hosted at The Trade Desk. We were blown away by the insightful discussions initiated by the motion: “Women cannot have it all”. Thanks to Maeve Devi Carroll and Esther Mark for hosting, our brilliant speakers Jane Loring, Simone Payne - Powell (She/Her) Chartered MCIPD, MCMI, Ryan Afshar and our three amazing debaters, Emmanuel Areoye, Ella Cox and Rushma Khan. Thank you too to Elizabeth Anyaegbuna for inviting us to take part in such a great event. On behalf of the whole team, it has been an honour to facilitate such inspiring conversations surrounding gender equality this past week. Whilst International Women’s Day is a moment to celebrate the wins we’ve made so far, we hope to have opened some important dialogues about the distance still left to go. Stay tuned for more International Women’s Day content throughout this month…👭 Margaret McCabe Scarlett McCabe Jessica Rolfe-Dix Lisa Chadwick
