We’re proud to share that Sarah Willett, our chief people officer, and Jag Collier, our head of logistics, have been recognised in WiHTL & Diversity in Retail’s Women to Watch Index 2025.     The index celebrates inspiring women who are blazing a trail in their fields, paving the way for future generations of female leaders. (Yep, sounds like Sarah and Jag to us. 🫶)    💫 Sarah has been an integral part of Team Very for 15 years and joined our executive board in 2019. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping our inclusive workplace culture, from driving D&I initiatives forward to creating our hybrid working model and embedding our purpose and values into everything we do.    💫 Jag has been an invaluable member of our operations team since 2019, with two well-deserved promotions during her time at Very. She’s a brilliant advocate for development, mentoring and coaching, especially championing women in operations roles. Through her work with our RAVE (Race at Very) colleague network, Jag has been a leading voice in our D&I journey.    We couldn’t be prouder of Sarah and Jag for this fantastic achievement. We’re proud to announce the National Literacy Trust as our new charity partner for the next three years. 📚 This brilliant independent charity empowers children, young people and adults with the literacy skills they need to succeed in life. Through colleague activities and events (including the return of our charity ball! 🪩), we’re aiming to raise £450,000 to help the charity inspire a love of reading in thousands of children. And we're starting in our home city of Liverpool! As a company, our purpose is to help families get more out of life - and this partnership aligns perfectly with that mission. We’re wrapping up National Apprenticeship Week with an inspirational career story from James Jones, shift manager at our Wrexham fulfilment centre. 📦   James left school without any qualifications, but his drive to learn and grow has been constant. By saying “yes” to every opportunity, he’s earned multiple work-based qualifications, including an NVQ and ILM certificate, and achieved several promotions. He’s an inspiration to our entire team. “If you doubt yourself, I’m here to say don’t.”   Brilliant advice from Mihai Sorin Avram, shift manager at our Skygate fulfilment centre. 📦 We think his message is simple but powerful - believe in yourself, especially if you're considering an apprenticeship alongside your job to unlock new career opportunities. Mihai has been in logistics for nine years, using learning as a tool for growth throughout. Now, he’s taking his development even further with a Level 5 apprenticeship in management and leadership with @FuelLearning. So, how is he applying his new skills in his day-to-day role? Meet Adam Thompson, trainer in our customer care team. Over the last five years, he’s been on a brilliant career journey at Very. After starting out as a customer care advisor, he’s now responsible for training hundreds of colleagues across our HQ in Liverpool and our Bolton site. Adam’s career has even taken him to South Africa, to support our customer care teams based there. (Fun fact: he successfully interviewed for his current role via Microsoft Teams while on one of those trips!) 💻 Adam is also studying for a CIPD apprenticeship in learning and development.
