We care a lot about our environmental impact at Great Taste and we love teaming up with people who help us reduce food waste ♻️🌱💚🌎 Last year we sent our used coffee grounds and beans from Great Taste judging to Rosie at Grounds for Good who has turned them into these awesome egg holders! 🥚 All natural products release carbon or methane into the environment as they break down, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions and global warming. By capturing these gases inside another material, Grounds for Good prevents them from entering the atmosphere while creating beautiful products that will last for many years - clever, right?! ✨ Service Spotlight - Shadow Board ✨ Our Shadow Board did some huge things in 2024. People supported by The Wallich participated in events, helped shape policies and were on interview boards. Our members took part in: 💜 CEO, Area Manager, Comms and STP interviews 💜 Started a working group with The Wallich planning team 💜 Influenced our new drug training 💜 Shaped and modelled in our winter campaign photo shoot 💜 Went to the Senedd 💜 Enjoyed a boat trip 💜 Benefited from training provided by The Wallich We're proud to announce that many our Shadow Board members also went back to college last year 👏 We look forward to seeing what 2025 brings 👏

We stand with the Welsh Refugee Council. Words matter. It is irresponsible of those with a platform to spread inflammatory narratives and put people seeking safety - as well as those supporting them - in danger. At a time where resources are stretched and everyday life is generally harder, turning on each other (especially vulnerable groups) isn't helpful or right. We must find ways to uplift and support each other. Welsh Refugee Council has given a great explanation below about how the video of young people supporting their cause came around. A great example of why fact-checking is more important than ever.

Great to see Glasgow's harm reduction centre has finally opened its doors after a long battle to move forward. Consumption rooms - which are sometimes horrifically called 'shooting galleries' in the media - are for people to: ✅Use drugs safely ✅Avoid overdose ✅Access advice The Wallich has seen the evidence of reducing drug-based harm by taking away judgement and working WITH addiction - not against it.
