About us

Zero Pain Philosophy is here to help veterinary professionals worldwide achieve analgesic excellence in your clinic. Our telemedicine service is designed to give you Specialist input and support in managing your pain cases. We offer a variety of educational resources to help spread pain management knowledge. With our regular webinars, your whole team can stay up to date with current topics. For quick reference on a particular topic, our pain updates are short and easy to read summaries compiled by our Specialists. We believe everyone should have free access to video resources where techniques can actually be seen, and not just read about in a textbook. Using our iPhones, we created videos to help you deliver great pain relief to your patients. With your help, we sincerely hope the veterinary industry adopts and practises an attitude of zero tolerance towards pain so that no patient suffers unnecessarily under our care.

  • The 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰, owned and run by Dr Katrin Jahn, is our first Zero Pain Practice in the United Arab Emirates! Recently, Matt and Carl had the pleasure of visiting the practice in Abu Dhabi. Having the opportunity to see first-hand, the approach that Dr Katrin and the team have taken towards becoming a Zero Pain Practice. We were particularly impressed by their engagement with clinical audit! A process that is crucial for any practice wishing to maintain and improve the quality of their care. Whilst visiting, the team also benefited from an educational Q&A with the co-founders of Zero Pain Philosophy. During that session, we covered a number of topics, talking about analgesic infusions, challenging anaesthetics, and the team's plans for 2025. It's great to see the hard work and dedication from the team, and we are excited to see the German Vet Clinic leading the way, and joining us in our mission to provide analgesic excellence on a global basis. #zeropainphilosophy #zeropain #petpainmanagement #acutepain #chronicpain #vetcpd #rvncpd #vetlearn #zeropainpractice #clinicalexcellence #germanveterinaryclinic

  • 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗘𝗔? PEA is short for 𝙥𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙮𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙙𝙚. PEA is a N-acylethanolamine - naturally occurring lipid mediator molecules composed of a fatty acid and ethanolamine. These are endogenous molecules which when activated in the body, act as a mediator in the resolution of inflammatory processes. A review by 𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙖 𝙍𝙤𝙘𝙘𝙖 𝙚𝙩 𝙖𝙡 (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭) lists the significant body of pre-clinical evidence pointing towards a benefit of PEA in pain management. • The Zero Pain Philosophy team recommends using validated pain scales whenever possible. The 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗽 makes many of these tools available in one app. Developed by a group led by Senior Professor Stelio Pacca Loureiro Luna DVM Msci PhD Diplomate ECVAA IVAS cert. Stelio discusses the details including one of the biggest advantages of using the app - the ability to complete some test scores first, by reviewing and scoring videos featuring all the different pain-related behaviours. This is a great feature to ensure you are competent using your chosen scale, before applying it to your own patient. • Opioids are part of our essential analgesics that provide pain relief to our patients. Methadone is our 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 of opioid. We have a selection of webinars to bring you up to speed with why. If you aren’t already making full use of this very versatile drug, access our webinar 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗶𝗱. Matt discusses the benefits of switching up from buprenorphine, a partial agonist, to Methadone, a full agonist. What benefits does this confer? Is it suitable for all patients, or are there contraindications? Find out the answers to these questions and more. https://lnkd.in/en8Zu_Sk We also recommend watching our webinar 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗶𝗱𝘀. Carl reviews the 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙨 of opioids, and looks beyond analgesia. A reminder that we should always consider the full effects that our drug selection has on our patient. https://lnkd.in/e87CqFBd #zeropainphilosophy #zeropain #petpainmanagement #cpd #vetcpd #rvncpd #vetwebinars #acutepain #vetlearn

  • Are your arthritis patients suffering more flare-ups? There are many reasons for worsening symptoms, such as disease progression, or a slip on an icy surface. But remember, even the weather can directly impact arthritic joints! Low air pressure can result in thicker joint fluid, so less effective lubrication. It can also cause the expansion and contraction of soft tissues, such as muscles, ligaments and tendons. Both of these effects lead to increased pain. Suggesting a warm and waterproof coat for their walks, can help our patients to keep warm and dry. For advice on additional management when our first-line treatments are no longer enough, access our webinars 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻: 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗕 & 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱, and 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗞𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗻. https://lnkd.in/dQfgjA5 #zeropainphilosophy #zeropain #petpainmanagement #cpd #vetcpd #rvncpd #chronicpain #arthritis #neverstoplearning
