In the battle of the boardroom, misalignment about expectations and shared accountability to long-term brand health can create a crisis of confidence in marketing's value. A pioneering C-Suite study in India by The Womb, The Effectiveness Partnership and Quantum Consumer Solutions: Insight & Design Strategy launched at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity peels back the curtain into some of these tensions, such as: ❗ Less than 1 in 5 CEOs/CFOs take accountability of long-term brand health ❗ 60% of CFOs don’t believe marketing demonstrates commercial value, with this number rising to 65% among CEOs. ❗ 40% of CMOs themselves report not believing that their efforts impact the bottom line. ❗ 63% of CMOs are self-reportedly not aligned with their CEOs, with this number dropping to 51% with the CFOs.
