The last three months have flown by! Our CEO Alfie Vivian shares some highlights from his first few months at Elida Beauty.
I'm three months in as CEO of Elida Beauty and I'm thrilled; diving deep into our iconic brands. The energy and passion from the team here are incredible, they are true #refounders, breathing new life into our beloved brands by honoring their amazing heritage while shaking up the trends. Take the new POND’S Fresh Hydration Moisturizers, for example. These gems pack vitamins and antioxidants for 24-hour hydration and a radiant glow. Launched in NYC at a ‘secret skincare spa’ at Chillhouse, attendees got hands-on with these lightweight gel moisturizers and saw the magic firsthand. Bed Head is also shaking things up with its Lab of Life campaign, which brings haircare into your everyday vibe with creativity and style. Recently splashed across London Waterloo Station, this campaign is all about realness and flair, featuring tutorial films, digital content, and more. Another illustration. Monsavon teamed up with Publicis Razorfish France for a vibrant new media campaign. Using animated graphics, the campaign showcases how their deodorants keep women feeling fresh and fabulous through life's daily challenges. And can go on and on with examples of great brand building activities across all our fabulous brands... Now, as part of Yellow Wood Portfolio of companies Elida Beauty is on the move, and we’ve got tons of exciting plans lined up for the balance of 2024 and the years to come. Last month we said farewell to our 2023/24 Year in Industry students and welcomed the new 2024/25 cohort – a group of amazing students who are an important part of the Elida Beauty infrastructure each year. As a part of the Welcome and Farewell Day, we invited eCommerce expert and entrepreneur Ayo Ogunde🦄✨ Director, Strategy & Innovation at TMP Worldwide UK to share her thoughts on early careers and her top tips for generational integration and understanding at work. Ayo has had an amazing career – she has rapidly developed her skills and gained great knowledge in some interesting roles and organisations, ensuring she always got the most out of each experience along the way. It was insightful to her thoughts on how different generations perceive working and what they are looking for within an organisation now. After her talk, Ayo acted as a judge for our departing cohort of students presenting their end of year project, Dragon’s Den style, giving the students vital insights as they kick off their careers. Our Caress team recently hit San Antonio, Texas with a fragrance-focused pop-up! Just as the Caress brand offers an immersive shower experience to #SparkYourSenses, the Caress Scent Station offered a sensorial experience with five different physical moments to bring Caress fragrances to life, including photo opportunities, samples, and a purpose tie-in. Visitors could smell the full suite of Caress products, including our new Daily Silk Bar Soap, taste ingredient-themed ice pops, see the variety of scents on offer and feel the Caress silkiness of our iconic products. Last Friday was a big day – we left Unilever having been part of their family since our creation and are now excited to be part of the Yellow Wood Partners family. While goodbyes are always sad, we look forward to the next stage in our #Refounders journey to take our iconic brands to the next level! This week, we welcome Alfie Vivian as the new CEO of Elida Beauty. Alfie joins us from his role as Senior Vice President and General Group Manager at Tyson Foods. Prior to Tyson, Alfie was at Unilever, with key leadership roles in different regions in food, beverages, and personal care, and spending over a decade focused on North America. With his deep personal care experience as well as a strong track record of delivering top performance through teams and people, we’re confident that Alfie will take us to new horizons, maximising value creation and driving us forward. Over the last three years, we’ve been on a huge transformation journey – and have seen incredible results. The announcement of our upcoming sale to Yellow Wood Partners is a collective achievement for us all and shows how we’ve come together as a team to deliver impressive positive momentum for all our brands, creating new routes to market and building a strong company with the capabilities and people we need to go even further. Today, we’re announcing that our CEO Jean-Laurent Ingles will step down upon completion of the sale of Elida Beauty to Yellow Wood Partners, anticipated to be in early June. He will take up the role of non-executive director for Elida Beauty in the newly formed board of directors together with Yellow Wood members. Jean-Laurent has led Elida Beauty since we were founded in 2021, having previously spent over 30 years with Unilever. We’d like to thank Jean-Laurent for his vision and passion for beauty, bringing together brands and teams around the world ready to act as #Refounders to drive growth and excite new consumers. Under his dynamic leadership, we’ve built a strong global team, delivered positive turnaround in our brands – and most importantly, have had lots of fun! Thank you for everything Jean-Laurent.
