What amazing photos from our Wildlife and Habitat Management course at Castle Hill Country Park at the end of November with trainers Josh Rogers from @nature.matters.uk and Richard Cripps! Doesn't our The Land Trust site look stunning in the winter sun? The feedback from the course was equally wonderful. "I loved the course at Castle Hill. Josh and Richard were brilliant. Truly brilliant!' We are currently planning our courses for this year, but we also have a guided dusk walk running on Friday 17th January with Jake from the Land Trust and Russell from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. At the beginning of 2024, the Land Trust launched the Land Trust through the seasons photography competition, inviting people to capture the beauty of nature in its many forms. All entries had to be taken at one of the Land Trust’s 85 sites across the country, encouraging people to explore a Land Trust green space and spend more quality time out in nature. After narrowing the entries down to a final 12, the public voted for the overall winner. This year’s winning photograph, which received over 100 votes, captures a stunning sunset over a poppy field. The photograph was taken by Sue Billcliffe at Rabbit Ings Country Park in South Yorkshire. Alongside the overall winner, five other photographs were chosen as winners for each season. Spring – Heron - Avenue Country Park by Sean Barnett Summer - Hare at Frickley Country Park by Bob Firth and Barn Owl at Frickley Country Park by George Varley (joint winners) Autumn - Northumberlandia by Tom Hibberd Winter - Kingfisher at Avenue Country Park by Sean Barnett Congratulations to all of this years winners! 👏 #photography #naturephotography #greenspaces #countryparks #greenspacemanagement #habitats

  • Today, the Land Trust gathered for our pre-Christmas meeting. The meeting provided an essential opportunity for colleagues from across the UK to reflect on our achievements, share important updates, and collaborate on key projects. We celebrated our colleagues with the annual Values Awards, voted on by staff. These awards recognised colleagues who exemplified each of the Land Trust’s six values—respect, collaboration, responsibility, inspiration, agility, and ambition. These values help to shape and inform the Trust’s culture and behaviours. A festive quiz, exchanges of gifts with Secret Santa and a Christmas meal and party followed. Congratulations to those who won awards this year, and a massive thanks to all the Land Trust colleagues for their hard work and dedication throughout 2024. #collaboration #values #awards
