  • 🏡 Could Timber and MMC Shape the Future of UK Homebuilding? This week, King Charles III, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner visited Nansledan in Cornwall, a sustainable housing development led by the Duchy of Cornwall. This pioneering project aims to deliver energy-efficient, low-carbon homes, potentially shaping the way the UK meets its target of building 1.5 million new homes by 2029. The project brings together Morrish Homes, LHC Design, Sydenhams Timber Engineering, and GRWN Group, who are working on a construction model that prioritises sustainability, efficiency, and performance. 🔹 Sydenhams Timber Engineering is supplying timber frame homes, performing energy assessments, and assembling the timber frames. 🔹 Homes feature a twin-wall timber frame system with hemp insulation, significantly reducing embodied carbon. 🔹 This approach could help define how the remaining 2,860 planned homes at Nansledan are built. Dean Orchard, Managing Director at Sydenhams Timber Engineering , highlighted the critical role of timber in creating a scalable, sustainable housing solution. He emphasised that sustainability is not just about materials but about rethinking the entire building process. Could this be a defining moment for the future of MMC and timber construction in the UK? Let us know your thoughts. #SustainableConstruction #TimberFrame #NetZeroHomes #UKHousing #GreenBuilding #ModernMethodsOfConstruction #OffsiteConstruction
