𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗿𝗮𝗽 🎬️ Last week, we had a great day of filming for some brand new how-to videos for our 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀 - why do we need how-to videos for something so obvious you ask? Because warming patients 𝗣𝗥𝗘 and 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧 surgery is still getting overlooked! This is despite 𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 warning that this can lead to serious post operative complications... We hear time and time again that current warming solutions are too complicated to use on the ward. 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 are here to change that. Clinicians need simple solutions that work. Our passive warming blankets can be used 𝗕𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗘, 𝗗𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗥 surgery. Keep your eyes peeled for Antonia Benson & Tony Codd acting debuts 👀 as they demonstrate how to use the blankets in the A&E room, ward, anaesthetics room, theatre and recovery. 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 have got you covered! In the meantime... enjoy this behind the scenes video. Yes, we had a bit of fun along the way 🤣 #thermarmour #patientwarming #medicalblanket #passivewarming #surgery #patientpathway #viral #foryoupage #fyp #bts #behindthescenes #videoshoot #production

🌡️ Maintaining patient body temperature before, during, and after surgery is crucial to prevent hypothermia and reduce the risk of postoperative infections. However, inconsistent pre-warming practices result in approximately 20% of patients arriving in the operating theatre cold, leading to surgery delays and poor outcomes. Traditional warming methods can have some drawbacks ❌️ 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆: These methods are often introduced at the point of surgery, by which time patients may have already lost body heat, causing operation delays. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁, 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: They require additional equipment and external energy sources, compromising surgery space and increasing costs and energy consumption. 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 offers a solution with several key benefits - ✔️ 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆: Clinically proven to keep patients warm throughout the entire patient pathway, reducing the need for active warming interventions. ✔️ 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲: Its unique multi-layered design creates an immediate thermal envelope, capturing the body's own warmth. The blankets are X-ray compatible, can be pre-warmed if needed, and easily adapted to fit specific surgical requirements. ✔️ 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱: Studies have shown that 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 maintains normothermia during surgeries lasting up to four hours, ensuring optimal patient comfort and safety. It has been demonstrated to perform comparably to forced air warming. ✔️ 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 is a cost-effective alternative to traditional warming methods. By integrating 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 into your perioperative protocol, you can enhance patient outcomes, reduce surgery delays, and achieve cost savings. NHS staff experienced the busiest year on record for A&E and ambulance services last year. Flu, Covid and RSV continue to increase pressure on hospitals into 2025, new NHS data shows today. Despite the record demand, NHS teams have delivered a total of 29 million flu, Covid and RSV vaccines since September last year. If you’re eligible for the flu or Covid vaccine, it’s not too late to get protected and reduce your risk of getting seriously ill. Find out more at https://lnkd.in/dZNcdBUK

Well, what an afternoon and night! Healthcare, business and life in general is all about building relationships right? This is something I’ve learned on my short journey in setting up an end of year review and shindig for our Advanced Paramedic Urgent Care teams at Wolfson College. I reached out to, and had excellent engagement from, THERMARMOUR, Butterfly Network, Inc. and Intuiti. Private companies that support the NHS with great products certainly, but more than that, with exceptional care and attention for innovation and collaboration. We had guest speakers from the College of Paramedics Tracy Nicholls OBE and Helen Beaumont-Waters; and the talented Dr Georgette Eaton, all of whom elevated the discussion within the team to one of sustainable aspiration. It’s been a pleasure to host and MC the group and the best evidence of our efforts will be seen in the months and years to come, here’s a snap of most of us after an excellent dinner in our glad rags to prove it. Have a great Christmas everyone 🤗

👉🏻 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝘆𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗔&𝗘 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 Hypothermia is a time-sensitive condition that requires intervention as soon as possible, to prevent further complications and distress for the patient. We know that cold, wet weather can increase the risk of hypothermia, but did you know that incidences of trauma can also increase this risk? 🚑️ Any trauma casualty will begin to feel the effects of hypothermia. A 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝘁 or 𝗣𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼 should be given to or wrapped around the casualty immediately. This will help mitigate heat loss while undergoing initial medical assessments. The casualty should remain wrapped in the blanket or poncho during the transition to the medical centre. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝗔&𝗘 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝘆𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗮? 🏥 The earlier hypothermia is treated, the better the patient outcomes. However, in 2023/2024, only 72% of patients were seen within four hours, compared to the target of 95%. These longer waiting times are incompatible with the progression of hypothermia and put the patient at a higher risk of complications. This is where using 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗥 can benefit the patient and medical facility. An 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝘁 can be provided for patients in the waiting room of A&E as they await triage or further treatment.
