  • What's better than a TGR run? A free TGR run!!! We can't wait to have more girls join us across the UK! And, if you're a brand that would like to back us and get involved with our amazing community - we'd love to hear from you!

Senior Brand Manager, Sipsmith | Founder, These Girls Run 💫 | Ex Nestlé

Today I announced that all our regular These Girls Run runs will be free moving forwards 🏃♀️ This means that even more women across the UK can join us in our 12 locations. If we can remove just one barrier for women getting into running, then we should - so, I’ve taken a big leap to remove the majority of ticket revenue from our income stream, and focus on aligned brand partnerships instead 🧡 Suddenly I feel like a business woman…..! This is hopefully one of the defining decisions of TGR’s existence - if you work for a brand that would love to empower women across the UK to meet and move in our Safe, Sweaty & Supportive space - I’d love to hear from you, we need you! I regularly get asked why TGR isn’t my full time job yet, or why I haven’t quit my day job. And, being completely honest, that’s because it’s never really been in the plan. Sometimes I feel like people judge me for this, and think I’m not pushing my business enough (maybe this is my own insecurities playing a part too). But, my sole mission with TGR has always been to get more girls running in a safe and supportive space - and right now, I’ve made the right brand decision to ensure that we can deliver this That doesn’t mean that balancing my full time job and TGR is easy (!!), but our purpose is to keep being that safe space that almost 4000 girls have bought a ticket for this year. And, I love working on a brand like Sipsmith in my 9-5 - where I continue to have so many opportunities to bring my passion for marketing to life 🦢 I think it’s important to show that you can still have your founding mission at the centre of your business throughout pretty quick (and hectic) growth - but, it’s all down to the team around you I have a phenomenal team, and that's the main reason that we keep going. Bronagh works for us full time and manages everything from our branded events to all +100 Ambassadors across the UK. And, our Ambassadors all unanimously agreed to go voluntary to enable us to get our runs to free - there was no hesitation, because we’re all on exactly the same mission If I’m passionate, and Bronagh is, and all of our Ambassadors are, and the brands we work with are (hello Sweaty Betty!) - then this shines through. External communities can’t thrive without first establishing and maintaining impeccable internal communities, and for our advocates - I’m forever grateful! So my takeout from our exciting announcement is that community lead businesses have to start from the community within - and, growing a business comes with a lot of personal sacrifices. But, if you know it's working towards a mission that you can't stop thinking about - then it'll 100% be worth it 🩷
