Thorntons has published its financial results for year ending 31 May. The accounts show another year of strong growth for the firm, which continues to lead the way as one of Scotland’s most dynamic independent law firms: - Gross income grew to almost £44m – a 16% YoY increase. - Profits rose by 35%, growing to £12.4m compared to almost £9.3m last year. - We appointed more than 80 colleagues including 27 brand new roles across a range of legal and business service disciplines. Among these hires were 16 new trainee solicitors. During this period, we launched our first official offices in Inverness and Glasgow after years of serving clients within these areas. Thorntons now operates a total of 14 offices across Scotland - further evidence of our continued expansion in the Scottish legal market. Thorntons Law LLP at the EIDG Quiz Last Thursday members of our Dispute Resultion and Business Law teams attended the Edinburgh Insolvency Discussion Group (EIDG) quiz at the Ghillie Dhu along with our guests from Henderson Loggie. With over 200 insolvency professionals present it was a fantastic event. We made a very respectable showing in the quiz which was sponsored by Sweeney Kincaid and Breadalbane Finance. The event raised funds for The House of Hope, a new Edinburgh based wellbeing centre designed to provide vital support for those impacted by breast cancer.
