Faolán was born at just 31+4 weeks, weighing 4lbs 4oz. During his 19-day NICU stay at the Royal & Ulster, he and his parents faced some truly frightening moments, including a brain bleed. For the first time, Claire Hannaway bravely shares her journey through the unimaginable. Charlotte was delivered by emergency C-section at just 27 weeks, weighing only 2lb 8oz. Claire speaks about the shock and unpreparedness that comes with a baby arriving so early—not having everything ready at home and facing the uncertainty that follows. Reflecting on how TinyLife supported her, Claire says, “Jill from TinyLife turned up at NICU, and we were still wearing masks at the time, but she had the smiliest of eyes and greeted me with nothing but love, care, and support.” In this video, it felt only right that Jill, who helped Claire, shares Claire’s message using her BSL skills. Claire's closing words are poignant: “I guess what I'm trying to say is, through that traumatic experience, TinyLife were there, and sometimes that's all you need. Somebody to be there.” Claire’s family has given back in a significant way. Charlotte's grandad, john hannaway, chose TinyLife as HCA Chartered Accountants charity of the year, and their Casino Night fundraiser in September raised an incredible £29,000!
