This #ThankYouThursday, we’re delighted to recognize The Openwork Partnership for their remarkable support of TinyLife since 2022. Through their incredible donation of £22,500, they’ve played a vital role in funding our Family Support Services, which benefit families across Northern Ireland with babies born prematurely or unwell. We’re immensely thankful for the opportunity to work with such a generous organization, and we’d like to extend a special thanks to Lorraine Stevenson for her steadfast commitment and advocacy. Collaborations like these enable us to provide life-changing support to families during some of their most challenging times. Thank you for making a real difference. 💛💜 #SocialImpact #TinyLifeSupport

What an inspiring story, Katrina Hutchinson-O'Neill! It’s wonderful to hear that Reid is thriving now. 👏 We are thrilled to learn that Join Talent already offers enhanced maternity pay and is open to further discussions about introducing a neonatal leave and pay policy. This initiative is a critical step in supporting parents during what can be some of the most challenging times. We sincerely hope to see this policy implemented within your organisation, making a meaningful difference for families navigating neonatal care. 💛💜

I am not big on personal posting on LI but I managed to find out today that National Prematurity Day was this week and I missed it! 👶👶 Back 14 years ago TinyLife Charity was a huge support for us when Mr Reid entered into our family. Every parent thinks their kid is one in a million, and of course they are! But Reid decided to be extra special and come pre packed with a one in two million birth defect that thankfully was able to be fixed via a pretty big surgery at 5 days old and just 3.9 pounds in weight (technically whilst still 5 weeks before his due date!). We were told he would have a 50/50 chance of getting through the surgery never mind coming out with everything fixed… and yet he did both with flying colours. We were told there was a 90% chance his condition meant he also would have a life limiting genetic condition, but after an anxious wait his tests came back at 2 weeks old giving a full all clear. Following in line with the typical Hutchinson O’Neill philosophy of unintentional over achieving (🤣) the Drs told us that he might be in hospital for 6 months after his surgery. He got out by his original due date 5 weeks after surgery. At Join Talent we have had enhanced maternity pay from the start… even at the earliest stages as a bootstrapped start up.. because having a new baby (even if they are not as ‘dramatic’ as Mr Reid 🤣👏🏼) is a huge event for any parent. In 2025 as we plan to review our benefits again parental leave and also fertility support are 💯 on the agenda for review as we strive to do more, and I want this to also include extra support for premature and medically complex arrivals for our team members. Watch this space for what we come up with! Also watch this space to see in a couple of years time if Reid’s ‘shark attack’ scars will give him added appeal on the dating front 😆- we think it makes him look hardcore 🥰🥰

Faolán was born at just 31+4 weeks, weighing 4lbs 4oz. During his 19-day NICU stay at the Royal & Ulster, he and his parents faced some truly frightening moments, including a brain bleed. Thanks to TinyLife, Ashliegh, Faolán’s mum, has been supported every step of the way by our Family Visitor Roisin. Regular home visits have not only helped Ashliegh track Faolán’s development but also reassured her that she’s doing an amazing job. Ashliegh’s advice for anyone on a similar journey? “Seek the support of TinyLife.” She’s experienced firsthand how vital our services are—from guidance in the early days to connecting with a community of parents who truly understand. This #PREMvember, why not help us support more families like Ashliegh and Faolán’s? By becoming a regular giver, the cost of one coffee a week can make a world of difference for babies born too soon, too small, too sick across Northern Ireland. 💛💜 👉 Sign up today: https://lnkd.in/e9gUq_5N #PrematurityAwarenessMonth #NICUJourney #PrematureBaby

For the first time, Claire Hannaway bravely shares her journey through the unimaginable. Charlotte was delivered by emergency C-section at just 27 weeks, weighing only 2lb 8oz. Claire speaks about the shock and unpreparedness that comes with a baby arriving so early—not having everything ready at home and facing the uncertainty that follows. Reflecting on how TinyLife supported her, Claire says, “Jill from TinyLife turned up at NICU, and we were still wearing masks at the time, but she had the smiliest of eyes and greeted me with nothing but love, care, and support.” In this video, it felt only right that Jill, who helped Claire, shares Claire’s message using her BSL skills. Claire's closing words are poignant: “I guess what I'm trying to say is, through that traumatic experience, TinyLife were there, and sometimes that's all you need. Somebody to be there.” Claire’s family has given back in a significant way. Charlotte's grandad, john hannaway, chose TinyLife as HCA Chartered Accountants charity of the year, and their Casino Night fundraiser in September raised an incredible £29,000! TinyLife is here for families, from those first fragile days in NICU until children reach school age. Help support families like Claire, JJ Hannaway and Charlotte, with babies born too soon, too small, or too sick. Please consider donating to our #PREMvember campaign: https://lnkd.in/e7trCsRb Your generosity makes a world of difference. 💜 Joanne Morgan Nicole Black Jasmin Moore #prematurityawarenessmonth #NICUstory #nicuawareness #prematurityawareness #birthtrauma

Today, November 17th, we recognize #WorldPrematurityDay. At TinyLife, every day is dedicated to supporting families and babies born too soon. We witness stories of profound strength—babies fighting for their first breath and parents holding on through every uncertain moment in the NICU, surrounded by machines and constant worry. These journeys, though filled with challenges, often transform into inspiring tales of resilience and love. We are committed to walking this path with families, ensuring every baby gets the best possible start in life. From emotional support, breastfeeding guidance, and developmental milestones to creating safe, nurturing spaces and equipping schools with knowledge about prematurity—our mission is unwavering. Today, we invite you to share your story below, from your little ones first day to now, to celebrate their incredible journeys and raise awareness for all families facing similar challenges. Together, let’s shine a light on the strength and bravery of these babies and their loved ones. 💜💛 #PrematurityAwarenessDay #TinyLife #prematurityawarenessmonth #PREMvember
