📈 A new 14-country-survey released by FICO last week has highlighted just how problematic the APP fraud situation is. With 26% of consumers reporting losses and 73% believing banks should refund victims most or all of the time, the pressure is on for banks to strengthen their fraud defences without compromising customer trust. Matt Cox, Vice President at FICO, stressed the need for smarter fraud detection - integrating multiple data sources, using behavioural profiling to understand transaction context, and automating decisions to quickly identify and act on suspicious transactions. These capabilities, he explained, are essential for minimising fraud risks and protecting both customers and institutions. Fraud like this, especially near the holiday season, where funds may be tight, needs to be prevented. While this attempt failed, others who aren't informed may not be so fortunate.
