Lumiere Durham never fails to deliver an incredible light display, transforming the heart of Durham into a vibrant work of art every other year! We were honoured to support the 2023 festival, and it’s wonderful to see its impact continuing to inspire local schools of Durham! Isn't it a wonderful thought to think that some of these students could one day be creating their own installations for the festival! 👏
How cute is this mini Lumiere? We were absolutely thrilled to see that West Rainton Primary School in County Durham recently put on their very own mini Lumiere! The school's classrooms and outdoor spaces were transformed into a glowing wonderland, all thanks to the incredible light artworks created by the students themselves. Over the past ten years, Lumiere's Learning & Participation programme has worked with over 13,000 local people, becoming embedded in the imagination of young people who have grown up with light art and inspiring learning projects. We love to see the impact that Lumiere has on local young people, inspiring them to harness their creativity and learn new skills. Lumiere is sparking a whole new generation of young light artists! A massive thank you to Aaron Adlington of Tracer Power, who generously supplied batteries for an installation at last year's Lumiere, for letting us know about the event and sharing this adorable video.
