In December 2020, Transaid secured multi-year funding from Puma Energy Foundation to deliver a project to enhance HGV driver training standards in Ghana. Transaid is committed to sharing knowledge in order to have the greatest impact, and we have developed documents outlining the three main activities of the programme: development of a new HGV driver training standard (curriculum and instructor's manual), training of trainers (ToT), and training of master trainers (ToMT). Following the first ToT training and over a two-year period in the project, 2,501 HGV drivers in Ghana received training from trainers trained by Transaid, and in accordance with the new standard. Read the briefs to see how Transaid developed the programme and the detailed outcomes: bit.ly/40zcrIN #roadsafety #drivertraining #knowledgesharing

In December, our friends Africa Global Logistics (AGL) delivered training to North Star Alliance’s outreach clinicians to strengthen their knowledge around cargo security, which is the topic of one of two newly developed factsheets being handed to drivers transiting the Northern Corridor. The training is part of our project to strengthen access to essential health and road safety messaging to truck drivers at the Mombasa port enclave in Kenya, funded by the Lloyd's Register Foundation. We’re grateful to AGL for loaning their time and expertise to the project. #roadsafety #cargosecurity
