To maintain compliance with the ever-growing list of requirements to satisfy requirements of the Fire Safety Act, responsible persons for buildings with specific characteristics such as height, usage as sleeping accommodation, and facilities for those who are more likely to be impaired should be able to provide a comprehensive plan of their building with documents to support their fire strategy, detailing the locations of firefighting equipment, locations of escape routes and higher risk areas. These plans should be available in digital formats for ease of access and rapid distribution in the event of an emergency. Having a fully annotated digital twin with created floorplans can quickly help non-familiar parties work out the best way to deal with a scenario in which a quick response can be the difference between life and death. Why #firecompartmentation is a vital part of #fireproofing your property ⬇ Fire compartmentation aims to prevent the spread of smoke and fire. By subdividing the building, we can protect escape routes and high-risk or high-value areas and prevent extensive losses. A Fire Compartmentation Survey includes: ➡ Assessing or defining the fire separation strategy. ➡ Inspecting fire compartments, including roof voids, fire doors, floors, walls, and ducts. ➡ Reporting unprotected structural steel and fire damper omissions. ➡ Identifying damage to fire compartment lines that could impact effectiveness. A big thank you to Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service for inviting the team to their awards night. The night celebrated the football team's achievement of two trophies in the England Fire Services Cup and the British Fire Services Cup in the last football season. It was an excellent night put together to celebrate the success of the players and the team at Tyne and Wear Rescue. Trident is the team's first sponsor for over 25 years. We look forward to seeing the team play and wish them luck in the upcoming season. Well done to all involved, and thank you for the invite.

Simplifying complex projects with Digital Twins A complex space, with tight areas and poor access in a roof void, makes for a challenging fire barrier assessment! Trident was commissioned to inspect a fire barrier within the roof void and provide accurate remedial details to help correct non-compliance caused by a new ducting installation. Using a LiDAR capture and imaging camera, drawing an accurate representation of the required elevation becomes simple. The client was also provided with a detailed, easy-to-navigate digital twin to help them understand the requirements of the space requiring work, and created a simple but accurate elevation drawing, which could then be annotated to suggest the most appropriate remedial action to make the barrier compliant. To find out more about how Trident can help create cost-effective solutions to all your passive fire-stopping needs and provide you with the ability to view and measure your spaces quickly, call 01913003210 or email info@tridentfirepl.co.uk

Our technical team have been working on creating elevation plans using nothing but Matterport data this week. Our client asked us to propose remedial firestopping works to the compartment lines of their building, which required creating multiple details to represent the various wall heights and different construction methods. Now that the plans are complete, we can use them to create a comprehensive and cost-effective proposal for the flats! If you're interested in how we use 3D geometry capture to simplify the generation of as-built structure documentation and provide a single source of truth for renovation and restoration projects, contact us today at 0191 300 3210
