This is the second case of a rig bound for The Black Sea requiring its drilling derrick (or mast) either laying down, or in the case of the bp-contracted drill ship I recall more than 20 years ago, having the top section removed to make it shorter. Neither option is normal and both require lots of up front design, removal and later replacement work.
