  • #GreenCareersWeek Spotlight! As the construction industry moves towards net zero, the push for sustainable practices has reshaped how we build—and learn. Our Deputy Head of Construction, Steve Turnbull highlights the shift: "The need for sustainable housing has transformed the construction industry in ways we couldn’t have imagined a decade ago. Energy-efficient homes and renewable energy are now at the core of new projects, while retrofitting existing buildings to be more eco-friendly is creating fresh opportunities for skills growth. To meet these demands, apprenticeships and training are evolving fast, ensuring our workforce is ready for the future." We’re proud to be part of the North East Institute of Technology (NEIoT) to offer new retrofit courses, equipping our teams with the skills to lead in sustainable construction! Join us and be part of the green transformation. Discover more about our Retrofit courses here: https://lnkd.in/e6aSuBsd

  • Our T Level Business Management and Administration students had an amazing day visiting Teleperformance in Gateshead this week. As a global leader in customer service solutions, Teleperformance provided our students with an invaluable experience. They got hands-on with some fantastic team-building activities, including constructing a chair out of balloons, a scavenger hunt, and even creating an operational budget for workforce expansion. A special shout-out to Connie Tweddle, Jake Ure Todd, Tom Rutherford, and Isabelle Holroyd, who delivered an incredible presentation to Teleperformance on how to boost employee engagement. It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to see how a market-leading company operates!

  • We were thrilled to welcome Connexions Advisors from across North Tyneside to our campus last month. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to meet with our curriculum teams and hear all about the exciting updates for the new academic year. From new courses to innovative teaching approaches, there’s a lot to look forward to in 2024-25. Our partnership with North Tyneside Connexions plays a vital role in supporting young people across the region as they explore their career pathways, and last month was all about strengthening those links and sharing ideas on how we can work together to guide young people towards success.

Connecting Talent with Opportunity: Championing Work Experience, Employer Engagement, and Industry Placements for T Levels at Tyne Met College.

Two posts in one day? There is just that much going on TyneMet College! Yesterday, 2nd Oct, our Uniformed Services students did us proud at Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service. 🚒 We were invited to Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service's Head Office to take part in a career day. Our students experienced some of the actual tests the trainee fire fighters have to pass as part of the recruitment process. This gave an important insight into the Fire Service for our students who are actively seeking a career in the Fire Service and those who are considering a career in the Fire Service. A big thank you to Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service 😁
