This afternoon we held our first Student Pop-Up Market, bringing together the local community for some festive fun to celebrate Global Entrepreneur Week! The market showcased over 25 UEA student entrepreneurs, with a wide variety of creative and innovative businesses, from jewellery, soap and clothing, to sweet treats, art and more. It’s so important to support small businesses this Christmas, these are the people who make our community what it is. A big thank you to Olivia Hunt, Activities & Opportunities Officer, for organising and delivering this wonderful event, giving students the unique chance to connect with new customers and network with other entrepreneurs. 🎬 | Announcing the first leg of the Speak Little One (The World Is Listening) tour: Norwich I am excited that Speak Little One is taking the adoptee experience on the road to continue the conversations we started at the screening launch at Watershed. This one is extra special as I will be joined by the amazing Josh Rivers, host of Busy Being Black for a post screening live podcast recording. We will have some thought-provoking discussions on the themes and stories portrayed in the documentary whilst welcoming reflections from the audience. ✨ Last Saturday, we hosted a celebration for the Hindu festival birthday of Hindu deity Ganesh Chaturthi. 🪷 Students gathered in Union House for worship, celebrations, and some delicious food! 🧡 Thank you to everyone who joined us over the weekend, and thank you to our Postgraduate Officer Bhaskar for arranging a lovely evening!

After 10 years at UEA Students' Union its time for me to move on to the next adventure - at the begining of November I'll be joining ARU Students' Union as Director of Membership Services - very excited. Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible colleagues and student leaders. While there have been ups and downs, we’ve navigated challenges, celebrated successes, and pushed forward a student-centred vision. Together, we’ve made meaningful changes and ensured student voices were always at the heart of our work. This week has been especially rewarding as I’ve watched my team deliver some amazing training for our student leaders. Their passion and commitment to supporting students is truly inspiring! 📣A big win for UEA’s Students’ Union!📣 Our Officer team have worked very hard, and we are thrilled to announce the running of a Night Bus service! From Friday 30th September, FirstBus will be operating a Night Bus service running six days a week from midnight until 5am. The officers were determined to make this project happen to enhance student safety during nights out and offer reliable transport for those working late.
