Day 2 of #Bett2025 started as Ukie’s very own Estelle Ashman joined a panel of experts to discuss how play-based learning can encourage creativity and critical thinking in education. With access to information at an all-time high, the real challenge is equipping young people with the skills to transform knowledge into innovative, creative endeavours. Video games are the perfect vehicle for this - combining problem-solving and engagement to spark curiosity and learning in new ways. A fantastic example of this came from the BBC’s Oonagh Jacqui, who shared details about an exciting game being developed with Roblox to teach geography, proof that play and education go hand in hand! If you’re at #Bett2025, don’t miss the chance to visit us tomorrow at stand SP60 to hear more about how video games are shaping education. A big thanks to British Esports for hosting!

Pocket Gamer Connects London keynote speaker - Chief Executive of Ukie, the trade body for the UK video game and interactive entertainment industry.

Fantastic to welcome Member of Parliament Tristan Osborne to Pocket Gamer Connects #London this afternoon. Tris is a brilliant supporter of the games industry and it was great to be able to introduce him to Nick Streeter SpecialEffect and his SpecialEffect colleagues as well as some students from the University of Westminster Game Design course. Ukie set out to make this the most pro-game Parliament in British history and thanks to supportive Parliamentarians like Tris, it's becoming a reality.
