I have a son on an apprenticeship who is thriving and at 18 years old is travelling to a London to learn how to undertake mechanical and electrical site safety, this week has he not only learned so much- he has earned more than I do- I therefore celebrate supporting young people into apprenticeships. This week I spoke to a level 7 apprentice for the NHS whose level 7 apprenticeship project is looking at how they can reduce waiting times for children needing urgent care… and another preventing Did Not Attend appointments in a children’s ward both these projects using newly taught strategic thinking….So I would like to know how was the choice made in defunding level 7 apprenticeship? #justsaying 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️

Degree Apprenticeships and the Growth & Skills Levy We recently launched our latest survey remains open for your input and is your chance to share views on significant topics, including the Growth & Skills Levy and funding restrictions on Level 7 training. The findings from this survey will not only feature prominently in media outreach and whitepapers but will also inform UVAC’s lobbying efforts with policymakers. https://lnkd.in/euX7Xfew

🎙️Episode... 4.1 (Bonus Episode) of Speaking of Excellence is out! In this episode, Lou Doyle joined by Dr Mandy Crawford-Lee FRSA (UVAC), Prof Darryll Bravenboer PFHEA (Middlesex University), and Clare Dunn (The Open University). They set out to explore the role HEIs play in widening access to education and careers since the apprenticeship reforms in England. They ended up having two fascinating discussions so we made this one a bonus episode! Firstly, they discussed how the growth in apprenticeships in Universities and HEIs over recent years has had a 'disruptive' influence on both apprenticeships and HEIs. We felt this discussion deserved its own episode. Look out for the next episode, in which they discuss the collaborative project that won them special recognition with a highly commended award at The Quality Professionals Awards 2024. It is available to listen on Spotify, You Tube and Apple: just search "Speaking of Excellence" #QualityProfessionalsAwards #QPA #Apprenticeships #Universities #HEIs
