Had a little go at filming and editing a promotional video for Unloc yesterday! We were given just 30 minutes to produce this, and were quite proud of the result. Posted it to Instagram and got over 500 views in less than a day!

Empty plates…and full hearts…   50 business leaders from major UK companies - including supporters The Worshipful Company of Marketors - gathered at the incredible Kanishka in Mayfair, England’s Best Indian Restaurant, at a meeting hosted by twice Michelin starred chef Atul Kochhar, to celebrate the impact of Unloc, the education not-for-profit, helping schools, colleges and organisations inspire and empower young people to be changemakers.   Founded in Portsmouth 10 years ago by then teenagers Ben Dowling and Hayden Taylor, Unloc has grown rapidly, and last year helped 17,000 challenged young people recognise their potential. Over 160 business leaders volunteered their time, with over 300 guest speakers and mentors inspiring the next generation about their career and business potential. Nearly 30 Changemaker Grants were awarded to help young people kickstart their businesses and community projects.   The food was great, but the real highlight was hearing 5 young people share their truly inspiring stories. He didn’t just drop some marketing wisdom—he brought stories, laughter, and the kind of real-world insights that stick. That hour? Absolutely priceless for the students in the room. Meet our finalists! Aleksandra Daniljuk aims, through her business AquaRenew - to address the global environmental crisis of water pollution caused by excess nitrogen & phosphorus in water. The collected algae from his process will be sold to businesses that convert them into biofuels and other sustainable products, creating a revenue stream to fund more work. This approach not only restores aquatic ecosystems but also fosters sustainability and generates economic value. Aleksandra’s solution also aligns with the UN SDG 14: Life Below Water, promoting ecological restoration and sustainability. Will Aleksandra be our next Grand Prize Winner?
