This looks like an important opportunity! See below for details - the outline of the inquiry resonates with so many of the activities and outcomes of our many brilliant Sport for Development organisations in the UK. From grassroots community sport, regional initiatives and networks, to NGBs - a chance to share your evidence, expertise and experience. #powerofsport #evidence #impact #sportfordevelpment
The Culture, Media and Sport Committee is inviting evidence for the inquiry, 'Game On: Community and School Sport'. Responses are welcomed until January 12 (2025), and we encourage the delivery network to engage. https://lnkd.in/eJpRMeHp The inquiry will examine: - The health of sport in local communities and schools, and whether more can be done to sustain and grow opportunities for all. - The funding available for sport in the community. - How volunteers can be better supported. - How to open up grassroots sport to under-represented groups. - The role of schools in delivering sporting opportunities both in and outside of school hours. - How children can be supported to develop a positive life-long relationship with physical activity. - The ways in which national and local government, clubs, sports organisations and sports governing bodies can work together to improve the delivery of school and grassroots sport. Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, Dame Caroline Dinenage, said: “Taking part in sport and physical activity is tremendously valuable both for our health andwell-being and our communities. With alarm bells ringing about disappearing facilities and declining participation, we’re firing the starting gun on an inquiry into what more can be done to ensure sporting opportunities exist for all, from playground to pitch.” Full information on the scope of the inquiry can be found here https://lnkd.in/eyN7SeQp

Local authorities are the pillars of our communities, providing vital services and support. And nowhere is the pressure to evidence the impact achieved through the use of public funds higher than in this sector. Upshot provides the essential tools to manage council delivery, monitor commissioned services and report on the outcomes achieved against local and national strategies. The system is now employed in almost 60 local authorities, across a wide range of services. Our most recent website post spotlights this work with contributions from: - Conwy County Borough Council's Youth Services - Blackpool Council's HAF, Parks and Youth teams - London Borough of Hackney's Sport and Physical Activity department - Aberdeen City Council - City Development & Regeneration employability programmes See the full article here: https://lnkd.in/det98g_f #localauthority #community #impactmeasurement #HAF
