A nice part of working on ITEA proposals and leading some of the UK consortia - is having to look at the overlap between a post Brexit UK and EU. Similar challenges often result in similar responses. This is worth a quick read as a summary. https://lnkd.in/eZei7fkE If you were king for a day - what would your priorities be and why?

Amazing how resilient this is. Read about it: https://lnkd.in/e22za8su Play with it: https://lnkd.in/eYPZFp5Z We're all about semantic data (labelling of things). Really impressed by how good a job this has done on Text, scribbled docs, illustrations and summation challenges. What's more the OCR is very very robust. No doubt it will get better - but Ai and Transformers used in their specific domain are really impressive.

Horizon season is upon us. We're very grateful to have been invited to be part of a number of consortia and proposals in some different areas - with a couple of proposals that look like they have a high chance of funding (fingers crossed) primarily focussed on resilience and recovery. We see a lot of cross over into some of the environmental challenges that are emerging - and often the interplay between these competing factors. If you're considering some of these - we've put a fair amount of research into how we might support TFND and mitigation efforts around Water Supply and Resilience. In particular moving from the Identify / Locate stage toward "so what" and attempting to simulate and validate changes in smaller areas > scale this up. We have a range of capabilities that suit this, from genetic algos that attempt to solve or refine a given solution, through to the transfer of "events / scenarios" from one locale to another - and also fairly simple (and low cost means) to engage with citizen scientists and the plethora of inputs from NGOs, Charities, and the wide spectrum of inputs (from space based analysis) through to inferred data and synthetic data (ie a future state). One of the benefits of our Engine is the ability to rapidly propagate changes and mitigations based on rules that factor in both systems and spatial considerations. This takes you from Meta, Meso, Micro based interactions. Having spent a good deal of time studying ecological forest and biome systems for some of this work, as well as a trip to CERN's green village. Do please get in touch if you're considering these!
