Urology News Research Grant update: Action Bladder Cancer UK (ABC UK) is inviting applications for grants to support research into bladder cancer, encouraging projects that aim to improve bladder cancer care, treatment, or diagnosis. Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/ebnYx3EQ Jeannie Rigby, ABC UK CEO, says: “We are thrilled to support essential research into bladder cancer. Despite its high incidence and mortality, bladder cancer has been historically underfunded, with limited advancements in treatment or survival rates over the past 30 years. Our mission is to change this by prioritising and supporting research which has an impact and can improve outcomes for bladder cancer patients.” Thanks to Estelle Cable for sharing with Urology News.

Urology News Research Study. Call out for guys with PCa who would be willing to help PhD student, Yingna Li, who is studying here in Edinburgh. She is leading a research study on men's mental adjustment to prostate cancer diagnosis and any help would be greatly appreciated in this important project. Here's the link: https://lnkd.in/ehWB3qnA Thanks to Alan Morton for sharing.
Gordon McMurray kindly put me in touch with a young PhD student, Yingna Li who is studying at Edinburgh Uni. She is leading research into a study on men’s mental adjustment to prostate cancer diagnosis. This study is to be supervised by Dr David Gillanders and Dr Anne Finucane, who are both psychologists. I am travelling up to Edinburgh on Wednesday (20th) to have a face to face interview, but Yingna has asked me to reach out to some other guys with PCa who may be willing to be interviewed as part of this study. The interview can be conducted via zoom or telephone or as I chose, face to face. As Gordon said to me, it could well become a most valuable resource for those guys who in the future find themselves dealing with a PCa diagnosis I have included the link to a brief description as to what is involved. It's a simple enough online form to sign. https://lnkd.in/ejrhE76b Hopefully, some guys out there may be willing to help. and my usual sign off....... GET TESTED CATCH IT EARLY Lots of info at Prostate Cancer UK and Tackle Prostate Cancer Photo is of the River Tyne taken from Bywell Bridge on my way home the other night.
