Due to continued sanctions imposed on Russia, its people and its companies by the Governments of the United Kingdom, European Union and United States of America; URS have adjusted its protocols and processes. The decision has been made to suspend the operation of the Russian office and its clients. NO new clients who are Russian and/or a resident in Russia can be accepted for certification. Any client who is Russian and/or based in Russia and is eligible for a recertification visit will not be re-certified. Existing clients who are Russian and/or based in Russia will not be audited. As some of you will have been made aware, the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) April 2024 General Assembly approved a new certification fee structure. Certificates published on or after 01SEP24 are subject to the new fees. The recurring Base Fee for Initial, Recertification or Transfer Audits will now be $700.00. Any Certification Modification will now be $300.00. The fees collected are transferred directly to the IAQG, they will not be held by URS or any CB offering the Aerospace scheme.

A quick update from URS, we are pleased to announce that we are now offering certification to UNE 66102 - Management system for tachograph technical centres. This standard involves the management, facilities and service provision, for tachograph technical centres; where interventions on tachographs shall be carried out according to defined, measurable and traceable procedures.

URS are pleased to announce the successful transition for ISO/IEC 27006: 2024. With this transition comes changes to the calculated man days. These changes will be communicated to our ISO/IEC 27001 clients in due course by the regional offices. We would also like to take the opportunity to remind you of the climate change considerations that are in effect with ISO/IEC 27001 (including ISO 9001, 14001, 45001). The amendments have not changed the requirements of clause 4.1 and 4.2, rather they have added an assurance that climate change is considered (CCC) for the management system. We have had various queries for this subject and hope the following assists - should a company minute their considerations during their Management Review regarding CCC as well as evidence of their considerations and any actions, a discrepancy shall NOT be raised. However, should no minute exist for any considerations, then a discrepancy will be raised. Where a minute and evidence does exist but is clearly of little relevance to CCC an Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) will be raised.

A quick update for URS, we are delighted to welcome our new partners in Greece headed by John Spanoudakis. They have recently held their launch meeting and we wish them every success in their endeavours. On the 27th February 2024, UKAS published a Technical Bulletin on climate change requirements for Management System Standards which can be found here https://lnkd.in/e275DQVQ Such standards as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 45001 have been amended. The amendments have not changed the requirements of clause 4.1 and 4.2, rather they have added an assurance that climate change is considered for the management system. It is for this reason a full transition programme is not needed.
