Just before the end of 2024, VERTLINER is wrapping up this year with a worth-mentioning achievement! 🎯 Accepting Mantis Beyond Innovation and National Technical University of Athens initiative, we joined GreenTech Challenge 2024. A pitching event dedicated to empowering and supporting the conception and incubation of innovative ideas in the field of environment and sustainability. ♻️ 💡 Competing in the Start-Up category, we proudly secured the 2nd place with A.S.S.E.S.S., the flagship fully autonomous aerial platform for monitoring missions in environments of high complexity. When it comes to an elevator’s installation, the shaft’s measurement and dimensioning is a crucial process that requires both skill and precision. 🎯 At the same time, the technicians carrying out this task have to spend considerable time taking several measurements at several different heights while standing in narrow and potentially unstable surfaces. In this week’s Mission Series, we would like you to follow the operation of “A.S.S.E.S.S.” Autonomous UAS, which will lead you to an underground storage environment full of bio-hazard materials. ☢ Last year, 67 accident-related fatalities of mining workers were reported in the U.S. alone. This number was described as “troubling”, by officials of the U.S. Department of Labor, as they saw a 31% increase compared to 2022. 📊   Although not all accidents are preventable, the rapid detection and assessment of accidents that lead to emergency situations is vital for search and rescue work, with the continuous monitoring of a mine’s dynamic environment considered mandatory for evacuation and recovery operations.
