  • TikTok continues to grow in popularity amongst digital PRs as a powerful insights and data source. And rightfully so. It’s become the birthplace of nearly all trends and a treasure trove of information - ideal for anyone looking to secure new and exciting campaign ideas before anyone else. But what some may not realise is that the platform has been home to these opportunities for years! Back while the app was still entering the mainstream, we clocked its potential early and jumped at the chance to leverage its unique data. What did we do? 📈 Working with Crypto platform Paxful, we uncovered some dangerous realities about the financial advice being touted on TikTok 📱 Timing was key with this study. Not only did we utilise TikTok data while the app was rocketing in popularity, but it coincided with crypto becoming widely adopted too. So as content creators raced to be at the forefront of these conversations, we identified that the risk of spreading misinformation was high. What did we investigate? 📈 👉 With 69% of TikTok's audience being teens and young adults, the amount of simplified or potentially risky financial advice we found - without proper disclaimers - was worrying. 👉 Our study analysed over 1,200 videos from top influencers in the personal finance space, examining their content for misleading information and lack of proper disclaimers. 👉 Shockingly, we found that 1 in 7 videos from these trusted accounts were touting concerning or misleading financial advice. The results? 📈 🔗 300+ linking domains, including the BBC, Business Insider, and TechRadar ✏️ 37 pieces of additional coverage 👀 Est. 5.3 million coverage views 🌍 10 countries covered 🏆 This campaign won multiple awards too, including: ⭐️ UK Search Awards (Best Use of Search - Finance) ⭐️ The Drum Search Awards (Finance & Professional Services) ⭐️ Silver at the Digital Impact Awards Europe Our digital PR work translated into some serious performance gains, nearly doubling page 1 keyword rankings for sough-after bitcoin-related terms and driving significant increases in organic traffic and revenue.

  • We are well and truly into party season, and the team has been having a cracking time this month 🥳 To kick things off, we got stuck into some Christmas team building with a Taskmaster afternoon ✉️ Hosted by Tonje Odegard and Amber Carnegie, it featured a range of challenges - from an ideation pitch with an open brief and unlimited budget (very fun 😎), to a game of charades where teams had to act out the titles of previous campaigns (chaos 🤪). We headed OOO for a team dinner and had an unconventional Peruvian feast, packed full of great chat and a *few* cocktails 🍹 Then last week, we were lucky enough to head to Dabbers Social Bingo for a high-energy evening of bingo, boogying and prizes. Better yet, our own Giovanna Castañeda had chance to head up on stage for a sought-after prize 🎁 We hope everyone is having a brilliant festive season too! 🎅 🎄

  • Are hero campaigns over? 🤔 Our Head of Creative, Amber Carnegie, spoke to Vince Nero on the latest episode of the BuzzStream podcast and offered up plenty of juicy insights into how to keep heroes relevant in 2025. Here’s some of what she had to share: ⭐️ Hero campaigns can’t afford to stand alone anymore – make sure they integrate into clients’ wider marketing strategy. ⭐️  The links you earn should make sense for your audience and industry. Don’t fall into the trap of chasing numbers over relevancy. ⭐️ For greater opportunity, you can branch out beyond your hero campaign and create spin-off assets, reactive content, expert commentary and more. ⭐️ Internal client data can be a gold mine - utilise it whenever you can! ⭐️  Aim to develop campaigns that can be updated every 6 - 12 months, as these can ensure consistent results for clients as well as value for money.   • Fast Company Forbes The Guardian Vogue Just a few of the publications that covered a set of Digital PR campaigns we produced with Canva. In 2024, 1 in 5 UK workers have a side hustle, and this goes up to nearly 2 in 5 for Americans. But how many are ACTUALLY making as much as they should be? Our “Side Hustle Economies” campaign uncovered the earning potential of freelancers online post-COVID, finding out which jobs rake in the most on a part-time schedule. We looked at nearly 120,000 sales delivered by freelancers who only provide their services on a part-time basis, and conducted research across all 37 OECD countries. TLDR: If you’ve got a knack for presentation design, you’re in luck! The results? 📈 🔗 46 links 🤝 6,000 social shares 💎 85% follow links 📈 Shifting the focus category page from being unranked in search to #3 in the US for target keywords Can’t argue with that 💅

  • 🏃♂️➡️ Get up to speed with Google’s AI Overviews in 60 secs: 👉 AIOs have been found to appear predominately for low-volume, long-tail keywords 👉 They’re rarely generated for commercial or transactional keywords – less than 10% of the time 👉 It takes just 13 referring domains - on average - to rank in SERPs for AIO keywords, compared to 41 for non-AIO SERPs 👉 Almost all searches that generate an AIO (99.5%) include at least one other SERP feature 👉 On average, they actually have 3 SERPs! 👉 Searches that trigger AIOs also trigger: 96% fewer Sitelinks, 84% fewer Videos, and 74% fewer Top Stories 👉 More than 70% of keywords that generate an AIO have a difficulty score of 30 or less, making them easier to compete for.
