  • 📅 Today is Stress Awareness Day in the UK!! 📅 This is our reminder to you of the importance of managing stress for your mental and physical health. With the pressures of modern work life, stress is something we all experience, but learning how to manage it effectively can make a huge difference. Workplace stress is one of the top contributors to burnout, absenteeism, and low morale. In 2023 there was a significant rise in workplace sickness reporting 76% with stress as the primary factor, across short and long term absences. We’ve provided some manageable tips to manage stress in the workplace: Encourage Open Conversations: By providing a safe space for employees to talk openly, will help work towards normalising these conversations, reduce stigma, and can create a valuable and important support network. Promote Work-Life Balance: It’s important to recognise if your team aren’t taking regular breaks. Do they know about flexible working options? Creating a supportive environment will build openness in the workplace, and build trust within the team. Provide Training and Resources: Your team are your asset and by making additional training readily available to them, will provide them with practical skills they can use, not just in the workplace but everyday life. Lead by Example: We know managers experience different levels of responsibility and additional pressure, but it’s equally as important for you to look after you mental health. By adopting different techniques to manage this will show your team the benefits and importance of these practices and set a positive example. Why not share these tips with a friend or colleague today and help promote a supportive work environment. 🌱 At Vetiver Training, we’re passionate about helping businesses create supportive environments where employees feel supported and listened to. Why not pop us a message today to find out more about the wide range of tailored trainings we can provide. #StressAwarenessDay #MentalHealthMatters #WorkplaceWellbeing #StressManagement #VetiverTraining #MentalHealthAtWork #EmployeeWellbeing #Managingstressatwork

  • ✨Kicking Off Movember! ✨ Did you know? Movember isn’t just about mustaches – it’s a global movement for men’s health. Each November, people worldwide grow their ‘staches, run challenges, and raise funds to support some of the biggest issues faced by men. 🧠 Mental Health: Every minute, we lose a man to suicide. Movember shines a light on mental health, encouraging men to open up, seek help, and support one another. 💙Prostate Cancer: The second most common cancer in men. Early detection is key, and every bit of awareness can help save lives. 🎗️Testicular Cancer: Often affecting younger men, testicular cancer has a high survival rate if caught early. Movember funds crucial research and provides resources for prevention and treatment. Men are often less likely to seek help for health issues. By raising awareness, breaking stigmas, and encouraging regular health checkups, we can make a huge impact. So whether you take part by donating to Movember, joining the movement, or simply sharing this post to spread awareness .. 👉🏼 Every action counts! This Movember, let’s work together to change the face of men’s health. #Movember2024 #MensHealth #ProstateCancer #MentalHealthAwareness #TesticularCancer #SupportMensHealth #MovemberChallenge #healthmatters #mentalhealthfirstaider #mentalhealthfirstaidtraining #bournemouthbusiness #workplacewellbeing

  • Today is World Menopause Day. Persons of menopause age are becoming the biggest demographic in the workforce but shockingly 90% say there is no support for them. 1 in 10 will go on to leave their jobs because of this. People experience the symptoms (over 34 in total, it’s not all about hot flushes and night sweats!) in varying degrees, from mild discomfort to totally debilitating and unable to function on a day to day basis. This then affects their mental health and can lead to depression anxiety and suicide. By making a few adjustments in the workplace we can help to improve the quality of life during this time. One of the biggest things is education. Offering training and support not only to those experiencing it but to managers, so they understand how they can support their team members. Short training sessions available to all levels in your business. Being one of those people who have been through the menopause, I can offer lived experience, a listening ear and empathy to those attending. Let’s have a chat about how you can support your employees. SAFE TRAINING FOR A HOPEFUL FUTURE Vetiver Training #worldmenopauseday #menopausetraining #menopauseatwork
