Video Screen Services Ltd (VSS) currently have an exciting opportunity for an Equipment Preparation Technician to join the team at our Basingstoke offices. Working as part of the VSS Operations Team, this position will include responsibility for the preparation, servicing, testing, cleaning and packaging of a broad range of professional video and LED equipment. Duties include the systematic checking out/in of hire stock against hire lists, to ensure all items are present, operational, and meticulously presented, taking care to log and report any shortages or damages. The role also involves the loading and unloading of vehicles, to include the careful manual handling of a range of heavy, technical equipment. Applicants should be strong communicators, comfortable liaising with colleagues and able to provide support and assistance in other aspects of the company’s activity, as required. A positive, flexible attitude to work and the ability to perform well under pressure is required. Electrical and electronics knowledge, a practical ability in the use of hand tools and test equipment, plus a working knowledge of video and projection systems, ideally gained within a busy rental operation, would be beneficial. A forklift licence is preferable but not necessary. Computer literacy plus an understanding of Microsoft Office would be advantageous. The ability to work as a member of a team and to provide and receive input from other team members is vital.
