Today, VisitAberdeenshire helped shape the tourism stars of tomorrow, as Peterhead Academy students hosted the second Taste of Buchan event. More than 500 people attended the free event and 20 North-east food and drink producers and businesses exhibited, including rora dairy, Summerhouse Drinks, and Dough & Co bringing the community together to celebrate the provenance of the area. This is the second year VisitAberdeenshire has advised travel and tourism students, providing guidance on project management, marketing, social media and business development. VisitAberdeenshire carries out annual research to explore the motivations, preferences and perceptions of 1,600 residents from across the UK. 💡 Results highlighted that 'enjoying quality food and drink' was the top activity while on a short break. The region's larder is just one of the reasons visitors are choosing the North-east, and our local provenance will be celebrated once more as entries for the North East Scotland Food & Drink Awards are now open. The awards celebrate the achievements of the region's industry-leading food and drink manufacturing sector. 🍽️ Check out the link in the comments below for more information, the full list of categories and how to enter.
