Thanks to Billboard for this exclusive interview with our CEO Dan Stein / DJ Fresh and Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer Michael Pelczynski. In it, they outline our vision for where we see AI voice modelling going – not a novelty 'magic trick', but a new form of monetisable intellectual property for artists. We paid our first royalties for the use of AI voices in January, something we're very proud of. Unlike other examples, our artists are paid their royalty split at the point of inference, as well as through traditional royalties on streaming platforms, if the music made with their voices is released. We see ourselves as an agency, representing artists and their voices, securing passive income across royalties, licensing, partnerships, collaborations, features and many more opportunities. It was a fascinating and vital discussion – it's great to see so much initiative in the UK, including UKAI, Creative Rights AI Coalition, and several MPs, Baroness Kidron and more. There is momentum 🙏🏻

We were delighted to be featured on Sky News over the weekend – namely our CEO Ausrine Skarnulyte ❤️ – talking about all things voice cloning, creative arts, the film and TV industries, translation and more. As part of the segment, we created a voice model of presenter Katie Spencer and allowed her speak in Lithuanian, showing the power of AI tools in post production. As the Oscars and BAFTAs take place this week, the focus is once again on AI's impact on the creative industries. We showed how, with permission and consent, AI voices are a groundbreaking tool for post-production and will transform the film and TV industry. We're really proud of our new video that perfectly shows the power of Voice-Swap. Artist, producer and singer Elle Exxe did a brilliant job showcasing what's creatively possible using AI voice while keeping the focus on the music, not the technology. It's become clear in the past few days that many companies who claim to be creating the next-gen tools for music makers simply don't understand creativity. Our goal is to create tools not to facilitate technology, but facilitate ideas, whether it's replacing a lead vocal, experimenting with harmonies, double tracking and layering, creating your own voice model to use on the go or even building a full 10-piece choir. Voice-Swap and LabelRadar by Beatport are teaming up on a groundbreaking competition, giving producers the chance to collaborate with house music legend Robert Owens using his official AI voice. Here’s how it works: Producers make an original track featuring Robert’s AI voice model, which was created by Voice-Swap. A panel of judges will pick a winner and Robert Owens will re-sing his AI voice for real in the studio. The collaborative track will then be released on Robert's label Musical Directions. This is a first-of-its-kind competition that uses AI voices creatively and with consent, opening up a brand new way to collaborate with your favourite artists. We are honoured to be one of the companies partnering with BIMM Music Institute on their new AI_Labs initiative. No one is doubting that AI is a transformative technology for music makers. But we have to instill ethical standards now, while we still have the chance, so the next generation of artists can benefit from these tools without seeing the industry they love exploited and undermined. It starts with education. By highlighting those who are doing it right, BIMM is setting the tone for both their students and young artists, musicians and songwriters everywhere.
