Excellent coverage on the front page of The Times newspaper this morning sharing the success tory that is EV charging rollout in the UK. And to quote Vicky Read CEO of ChargeUK ... “With one in three cars sold in December being fully electric, it’s clear where the future is and that a comprehensive network of charge points across the UK is essential." Bring it on 2025! #EV #EVCharging #2030 https://lnkd.in/e4ce9Zyf

🤔 "30% of the chargers we tested didn’t allow us to use contactless payment" According to a recent study run by What Car? looking at the implementation of the recent Public Charge Point Regulations update, 1 in 3 chargers weren't compliant with the requirement to provide contactless payments. If anything, we think this shows how hard it is to achieve compliance; it requires money to invest in change and technical knowledge to implement that change. If you're stuck in this conundrum, we can help - our destination charger has contactless payments integrated as standard 🤩 #EVCharging #Payments #2030

⚡ It's great to see independent validation of figures the EV charging industry has been reporting for a while now. #EVCharging #2030
The new UK National Audit Office report echoes what ChargeUK and its members have been saying, we are on track to deliver over 300,000 public charge points by 2030. With a new charge point installed every 25 minutes, ChargeUK’s members are enabling the UK’s transition to electric vehicles. Though we need to ensure that we stay on track. The government must tackle the remaining barriers holding us back from rolling out even further and faster, as well as publicly recommitting to a strong ZEV mandate to maintain a healthy flow of investment into our sector. #ChargeUK #EVcharging #EV https://lnkd.in/eUj4AQqq

"...over half (56%) of English local authorities with data reported full compliance. However, 22 councils cited challenges such as funding limitations and contactless payment issues, which was attributed to factors like the age of the chargers and signal strength." According to a recent survey by Drax Group councils are struggling to keep up with regulation change as the second phase of Public Charge Point Regulations came into force on 24th November. Simply sticking a payment terminal on the side of the unit isn't always a feasible solution - otherwise they would have done it already. Luckily, Voqa has a solution for this - our AC charger has contactless payments integrated as standard. #EVCharging #Payments #2030

Whilst wandering around the FullyCharged.SHOW & Everything Electric event last week my mind got stuck on work and thinking about what the biggest threat was to getting Voqa off the ground. Many a seasoned entrepreneur will have a long list to give me, but when I sat to listen to one of the talks, a niggling thought that had been bouncing around came into focus thanks to the talk. The panel spoke about misrepresentation of facts in the mainstream media and how it’s affecting people’s understanding and their desire to transition from ICE cars. And there it was. Belief. Not the belief that we can do this, the other one. The collective belief that this is the right direction of travel for us all. If this country believes that transitioning to electric is the way forward then we will all pull in the same direction (government regulation, industry bodies, investment funds, media, general public). But if we don’t then the reverse will be true. Belief doesn’t stop healthy scrutiny, but let’s stick to the facts and not deliberately try to mislead those around us. #StopTheFUD #EVCharging
