One thing everybody worries about is their home and the cost of energy and utilities. Last week, I spoke with an executive from one of the major energy efficiency and compliance companies in the UK.. His team is responsible for leading service provision to well over 1 million homes. I asked him, 'What is the biggest risk to a secure energy future for regular people?' His answer, "The major shortage in skilled labour will singlehandedly stop the growth of cheaper, clean energy for the wider population." The UK's energy sector alone needs to recruit approximately 400,000 roles by 2050 to reach a secure energy future. Holy sh*t! This includes 260,000 new roles and 140,000 replacements for those leaving the workforce.
