W3G Marine are in Marseille this week for the FOWT Conference 🇫🇷 Our business development team T Brian Donaldson & Ewen MacLennan Donaldson will be attending 🚀 W3G Marine have been Owner's Representative and Owner's Engineer on the Kincardine Offshore Floating Windfarm since it's construction in 2018. Introducing one of our innovations for Offshore Floating Wind 🔥 ‘Game Changing' assembly methodology solution for floating wind? Assembly of next generation turbines will require lifting a nacelle of weight of 1,000t to a height of over 185m and at a reach of over 50m.  To achieve this using conventional technology requires: - a high strength deepwater quayside with a large laydown area and huge onshore crane or - a next generation, expensive, ‘super’ jack up Our solution is low cost and solves all of the challenges to deploy next generation turbines onto floating structures at industrial scale. It contains very high levels of local content and best uses an existing port infrastructure. This means we don't have to move the very heavy load at a very high height. Instead move the components under a single point and build the turbine using a static-to-static lift. Learn more at www.w3gmarine.com Get in touch with us to arrange a meeting at FOWT via email at edonaldson@w3gmarine.co.uk 📧 #innovation #offshorewind #floatingwind #floatingoffshorewind #FOWT #FOWT24

Director at Orlo: Renewables & Energy Transition SupplyChainScotland

I will be in Marseille next week to attend the FOWT Conference 🇫🇷 We represent the Owner’s Engineers and Owner’s Representatives, W3G Marine, of the Kincardine Offshore Floating Wind Farm (KOWL) in Scotland. KOWL is currently the largest floating offshore wind farm in the world connected to the grid. We also represent J+S Subsea. They deliver cable monitoring, fiber optic monitoring, operational support, asset lifecycle support including decommissioning and Subsea cable connectors. J+S have a pedigree in Wave & Tidal with transferrable skills to the Floating Wind market. Lastly, Forsyths Ltd a fabricator in Scotland with facilities in Rothes, Aberdeen, Caithness and a quayside in Buckie. Their hotspot for Offshore Wind is secondary steel fabrication. In 2017, Forsyths built the boat landings and supporting steelwork to allow the repurposing of the Beatrice offshore platform. This platform now has the Offshore transformer modules on it connecting the cables from the wind farm to onshore. If any of these are of interest, please email me at - brian.donaldson@orlonetwork.com #offshorewind #FOWT #FOWT24 #floatingwind
