  • Waterscan welcomes the launch of the Cunliffe Review and the opportunity it brings to shape the future of the UK water sector. As part of the process, we will be collating a comprehensive response on behalf of Self-Supply retailers, ensuring their voice is heard as part of this critical transformation.   Having a licence is one of the key benefits in this space, providing Self-Supply retailers with the platform to actively contribute to discussions around water quality, sustainability, and the resilience of the sector.   Sir Jon Cunliffe’s Review – commissioned by Steve Reed, the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs – marks a pivotal moment for the industry, and we are committed to ensuring that Self-Supply Retailers play an integral role in shaping its future. • We’re thrilled to announce that Toby Robinson, Team GB Olympic marathon swimmer and advocate for cleaner waterways, will be speaking at Water Matters 2025 this June!    Last year, Toby made headlines competing in the Men’s 10km Marathon Swimming race at the Paris Olympics, where the Seine River took centre stage. But beyond the race, his experience highlighted a critical issue: water pollution.    Toby will share his unique perspective on the challenges of swimming in polluted water, the transformative measures taken to clean up the Seine, and how we can apply these lessons to rehabilitate UK waterways.    💡 “The Seine’s transformation shows what’s possible when there’s commitment and collaboration. We can apply these lessons here in the UK to restore our rivers and open them up for everyone to enjoy.” – Toby Robinson    From his work on swimming events in the Thames to his vision for cleaner, healthier rivers, Toby’s talk will be both an eye-opener and a call to action.  Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Toby’s inspiring story and insights!  👉 Register now for Water Matters 2025: https://lnkd.in/edtBYRpz    Let’s work together to create a legacy of thriving, accessible rivers for future generations. 🌍💧 #WaterMatters #CleanWaterways #Sustainability #TobyRobinson #TeamGB #WaterPollution #SeineRiver #Thames #HealthyRivers #Environment Tobias Robinson OLY

He highlights two major issues: - The discrepancy between headline price impacts for businesses and what they will actually face. - The lack of transparency from regulators and water companies about these increases. The PR24 final determination is here, and while the headlines focus on average price increases, the real story for businesses is far more complex—and costly. We’ve been analysing the details, and what we’ve uncovered is alarming. The average 36% increase in water bills over the next five years doesn’t tell the full story. For businesses, particularly large water users, the reality is much starker. Front-loaded price hikes, inflation adjustments, and shifting tariff structures could see some businesses facing increases of up to 100%.   The financial impact of PR24 will be felt immediately, and delaying decisions like retendering water contracts could cost companies hundreds of thousands in unanticipated expenses. Read more… https://lnkd.in/eMiraSw2 #PR24 #PriceDeterminations #Water #WaterBills #WaterPrices #Ofwat #WaterMarket #Inflation
